NO LONGER AVAILABLE: Rel Acoustics Storm 111 Subwoofer

Featured Replies

Anyone interested in an as new condition Cherry coloured REL Acoustics Storm 111 Subwoofer?

Details on this sub can be found on the REL website under the "ST Series"

12 months old, RRP was $3895.

Has had less than 50 hours use, looking for $2500

3 year worldwide warranty. Copy of receipt will be provided to new owner.

Comes with speakon cable and Australian plug and manual but no box.

Happy to demonstrate.

Can deliver in Sydney.

Willing to ship to other areas at your expense and if so would recommend insurance.

Selling due to the fact that I have upgraded to Silverline Sonata Mk111 speakers and the sub is not getting any use, hence the sale to upgrade my analogue front end.

Also have a Pathos Twin Towers Remote Reference Hybrid (Valve Input, SS output) Integrated amplifier, I have moved to SET) if anyone is interested please PM me.

Nice Benelli. I have one exactly like the one in your avatar in my garage. It's not mine though ... a friend just leaves it there.

Your REL sounds very tempting. Is it this one?

Hi,

can you explain a little more about how the high and low level connections interact and are set up?

I'm interested in this sub as it seems to offer choice of having both line level (sub-out from pre-pro) and speaker level (front left and right from amp) connections (so I fcan have a sub in my 2ch analogue listening).

Do you piggy back a lead from the front L/R speakers to the sub? and... does the sub amp drive the sub or my main power amp?? I read a review but wasn't too clear if the speaker level connections were just for signal conversion to line level and then run through the subs amp.

not totally up with this sub in particualar but the rels I have come across you can basically hook up the same bindign posts on your amp that feed your speakers to also feed the sub for 2ch as you describe. At the same time you can also run a line level signal off your pre-pro .1 outptu to the sub amp for HT use. At all times the subs power amp drives the sub.

so I could bypass the subs line level LPF for HT use and have a LPF set on the speaker level connections for 2ch use?? The sub automatically detects a line level signal and turns off the speaker level connections??

This sounds useful to me but is it diffrent to other subs or just marketed more as a feature? I'm not familiar with the brand Rel.

check the rel website

http://www.rel.net/

for additional info if you like in regardcs the sub specifically and maybe speak to a rel dealer.

the rel I've seen has completely separate high adn low level sections. check the folowing review for use with 2ch

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/superioraudio...lstadiumiii.htm

The rel subs are extremely well made. Infact as good as it gets and thats in comparison to both commersial and custom subs I've seen.

Soem peopel who have demoed them for ht feel they are not as gutsy for ht and dont have as much boom as soem of the yank subs. I think theyre more for 2ch and subtle in the way they work maybe not being as overpowering in the bass for music as some subs can be.

best thign you shoudl do is go check this out for yoru self and come to yoru own conclusions
