He has succeeded greatly, the system can play far too loud without strain or signs of distortion. The soundstage is massive & almost enveloping, the noise floor has dropped, so micro details are clearer without being distractions. When listening off axis the sound remains cohesive. All in All it's a joy to listen too, when I control the volume?.

Anyway I'm sure Mario will have some advice for you on Sunday?. Congratulations on a wonderful system & I'll waste my breath by saying again, relax & enjoy it!!

Thank you kindly @teagle
I am afraid, with this new ceiling been treated, it has raised my eyes-brow again. Well.., at first I thought it has an adverse effect and went back ward....., however, latter that evening I revisited With more relax mode and without any distraction from the Mrs... The latter found it was actually improved the background noise floor to unprecedented level...

The timbre at its current setting reminds me of the Mingda 845-300B ClassA Mono Amps...., so engaging....! This lead to my immediate concerns for micro-dynamic or timing/speed/impact/precision/accuracy or resolutions? Actually, those are all still there...., but with much better focus. The same focus I often spoke to you about from @Steve Msetup!

Anyway..., the proof is in the listening this Sunday. Hope to see you all this Sunday.
Cheers.

I may post a more in depth on this new acquisition later.

Just firing up the unit, and it appears C-3900 produces the biggest sound stage I have ever came across in this very room... I was extremely impressed with the C-3850 previously. C-3850 was by far the best performer compare to others’ in my setup. A diversity Preamps came and gone....., and yet this C-3900 takes several levels beyond my anticipation against the top performer right out of the box. This expectation that it will better C-3850 by few levels is an under statement!

The pain of overly invested $$$ under this uncertainty COVID-19 is overly shadowed by such beautiful surprise from such a SQ performance that goes above and beyond my expectation.... In time it will get better..., if any, is simply an icing on the cake for me.

Yes..., a very pleased investment that is.

Beautiful piece! Are there golden rims around the knobs? Any close up photos?

Correct - the golden shiny rim is at around..... Elegantly presenting.

All the preamps I have had here..., and upto RRP $65k, made a noticeable level of white noise at the tweeters for whatever the volume output. This C-3900 is completely dead silent.... Correct..., dead silent. I put my ears right against it and I could not detect any hiss at all.  The noise floor is simply unprecedented in my hifi journey in the context of all the preamps I had the opportunity to cross path. I consider myself very sensitive to high frequencies..., as such it put me off whenever i can detect one.....

Looking forward to hearing about your impressions Chanh : )

Is that untreated plywood you have backing the window diffusor treatments with the vertical jarrah fins?

Previously you had more absorbent materials in this location?

Hi Steve...!

Very modest and no where is in any way near your standard.
Penfolds RWT 2012.

That’s correct Chris.
@TDX came and gave me a helping hand to place them into position. Was a struggle from both of us as they are so damn heavy. The vertical fins  and frame are made from hardwood Jarrah. Those black windows are made from 18mm mdf sheet with black paint, and 3mm thick plywood from Bunnings for $29 a 2440x1220 cut into two by Bunnings’ staff, covered the overall frame’s length  from liquid nail and nail gun. Armature’s quality of workmanship and finished. Hopefully, sonic outcome be better then its poor aesthetic.
