Guest thathifiguy
Hi Muri, Most of the Thorens stuff at that price is Auto/Semi Auto. Still made in Germany too.

okitoki
I had a Technics Sl1300 and a Denon DP300F which were really nice to use... Also look for the Thorens 145 which is semi auto (lift at end), but not sure if suited for the stule you are looking for...

muriwai
Hi all, still haven't got a replacement table yet!!I know I procrastinate too muchWhat are my options for these requirements?Would like1. Direct drive2. Prefer fully auto, but could live with lift on finish3.needs to be suitable to mount a LOMC (denon?)cart, preferable already mounted 4.2nd hand is fine5.prefer solid wood plinth(no springs)6.have looked at some vintage ones on hifido Japan that some one had linked to,but bit nervous of importing ? Any one have anything local (Melb) that would tickle my fancy??Cheers Muri

Guest Misterioso
Why is automatic so important to you? I went from a semi-auto to a manual and really don't miss the automatic. You anyway need to get up to change the record.
muriwai
Hi Misterio,it's for a bedroom system, and sometimes can't be bothered to get up to stop it,!!and the JVC it's replacing is fully auto so I suppose it's just what I am used to !OCD as well
