  1. Excuse me, I’m naked and I’m having a shower. I don’t take a photo when you’re showering. Sorry Ming my bad. Lucky for me my phone doesn’t have Ming I.D.
  2. Have you tried a different amp to see if you have the same issue? To your question a well placed Sub will definitely help you your bottom end performance. Also a photo of your connections on the back of the amp may also be helpful. Regards John
  3. Couldn’t agree more. You would think for the money there’re charging they could at the very least use real leather. Quality is something that is sadly overlooked these days due to replacement this and replacement that, cables, headphone pads. I’m sure it a way to gain extra dollars after the sale. Just make it once and make it right!

This is a wonderful Power Conditioner that truely made a difference as soon as I plugged it in. It has 8 inputs ( not four ) it also has an extreme voltage protection. Very slimline so it fits into your rack nice and easy. Selling as I have upgraded to 12 inputs, same brand.
  4. After nearly 500 mls of rain for the month of March, I nearly had to give Ming snorkel and flippers when I let her out this morning.
  5. Yesterday opp shop find. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was walking out when I noticed the usual half empty box which I had been through on numerous occasions was abnormally full. This is what I picked out at $1 a record. after the mandatory Record clean and sleeve wipe down, I was very happy with the mornings work and purchase.
  6. The model number is AOX001 so I’m guessing the 001 is the series One. To be honest until you asked me I didn’t know there was and model 2. kind regards John.
  7. These were purchased in 2018. The Astell and Kern is a I river AK Jr. Hope this helps. kind regards John

  8. Yello would sound wonderful on Vinyl. One of my favourite streaming albums. Can I please ask if it is well recorded and produced?
  9. Arrived and installed today. Denon DL301-mrk2. Very happy with this cartridge for the price. Easy to setup, nice detail and sound stage, less surface noise, all in all a wonderful cartridge for a bargain price. Set up the Klyne phono stage at 100 ohms.
  10. Ming you no you’re not human your a cat? “ Great John you’re a genius, what was your first clue, the fur or the whiskers “ Ming no one likes a smart arse cat. “ leave me alone please can’t you see the empty packet of Tim Tams, I just need to sleep”
  11. Scratch my back John, there’s a good boy. Sure Ming do you want your slippers while I’m up?
  12. I agree with the presenter in as far as his point that if two DACs are made using the same chip then theoretically they should sound the same regardless of how much they are worth. The difference is in the circuitry used around the chip. It is my opinion that like amplifiers, CD players, and DACs, each have their own sound signature. Which is to do with the circuitry and the quality of the components used to make that piece of equipment. So wilst I struggle to get my head around that a $40,000 DAC is gonna to give you great value for money. I do think that a well constructed DAC using quality components and good circuitry will always sound better than something built on the cheap. Not to mention valves V solid state construction. I did however enjoy the video.
  13. Remember John, you’re my primary care giver. Have you brushed me fully Did you make sure I’ve got fresh waterDid you get my best side in the photo? Ok that’s it for now, I’ll call you if I need you.

The unit itself is in excellent condition. New valves last October. The unit turns on. Goes through the mandatory 30 second valve warm up, The loading door opens sometimes and then closes straight away. If you’re really quick you can load a CD, but not advisable as you may scratch your CD. Sometimes it plays through and sounds wonderful. Other times it plays about halfway and stops. All the buttons work as they should. Remote control is also in very good condition and works as it should. So the short answer is I don’t know what the problem is. So I am selling it for parts or restoration. I think the remote is worth the selling price alone. I think I have the Original box, so freight at buyers expense. More photos available on request.
  14. Ming Ming is making sure I get everything cyclone ready. To everyone in the danger zone, stay safe and be well prepared.

  15. All cleaned up, oiled the wood, fitted the horn, come up pretty good. It does feel good to own a wonderful piece of musical history. Just need to organise a belt and she lives again. The gentleman I purchased it from yesterday, Peter told me it was his Grandfather’s and has been sitting in the ceiling for 60 plus years. Still pinching myself that I actually own it.
  16. I think this classifies as analog. Pick this up this morning after seeing it on gumtree yesterday afternoon. Comes with 24 cylinders, two voice coils the horn, box of needles, and a cylinder catalogue from 1917. I absolutely love getting things like this and becoming the custodian of something so precious.
  17. Yes, music can be good for mental health. Types of music Different types of music can have different benefits. For example, classical music can help focus the mind, while EDM can help sharpen focus while studying. These are not my words, but I thought them very relevant. I myself have an incurable illness which robes my body of many things. I could wallow in my pain, instead I find it necessary to help others that are in a far worse situation than mine. This helps me to keep things in perspective. When the pain gets intolerable I go to the music room. I find my mind drifting in and out of the moment. This helps me immensely. Not sure where I would be today without music. Apologies for bringing my personal life into the thread.
