The Egreat R3a is more of a spin off of the original box, the Himedia HD500B. They are almost the same but not quite. The latest firmwares for the Himedia have fixed all the major bugs on the HD500B, as confirmed by several users including my own experiences. The HD500B is now perfect for what I use it for as a dual tuner PVR and media player. Firmware updates are more than regular for the Himedia, can't complain about it. The support forums are also helpful and the official Himedia rep in the forum is actively helping users. I would certainly recommend the Himedia HD500B to anyone now with the new firmware.

$400 is a bit more than what I paid for it installed. Did your price include extras like new cables or outlets?

Just wanted to close this conversation off. I ended up getting a Hills PHD1 antenna installed. Very happy with the results. Signal Quality and Strength are all 100%. This new PHD1 that replaced an old, old dipole type antenna even resolved some impulse issues I had. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

I see which page you saw that charlesc. You were looking at 01MM-LP03FHV. Which as you said serves CH5-12. I agree, that looks like a typo. I was actually referring to 01MM-LP03F, (without the HV at the end of its name), which is found in Products -> Combination TV Antennas -> Log Periodic -> 01MM-LP03F

Where did you see it saying that it covers CH5-12? I see 6-12. Short Description: Antenna UHF / VHF 'F' Log Periodic Channels/Perimeters: (6-12)(28-69) Brand: Matchmaster. What page were you looking at? I'm in Concord West, so I'm definitely closer to the Gorehill/Willoughby/Artarmon antennas. But the rest is all good info. So I take it this antenna is not too bad then. I guess we will find out after install. Thanks Charlesc

Hi All, I have been quoted for an antenna install using the matchmaster 01MM-LP03F. http://www.matchmaster.com.au/_product_36454/01MM-LP03F I'm in the Inner West, Sydney area. And the closest towers are in Gore Hill. Want it for digital FTA reception at two points in the house. Does anyone have an opinion on this antenna model? Good / Bad? Thanks.

Hi foxtail, need to buy a TV antenna cable F to F F connector to F connector Wall to TV Coaxial Cable It says ... Note: Even comes with a F type to Male Adapter just in case. But I'd like to check it this adapter is an F-type to PAL adapter. Which is what I need. Wall is F-type, but TV is PAL connector.

I bought mine at JB too on the weekend. Don't be fooled by the display models on the floor. Too many TVs in JB have been setup using Component cables, and sit right next to TVs on HDMI connections. Make sure the TVs you are comparing are both setup with the same input type. No use comparing TVs with a Component vs HDMI connection.

Just purchased a 50V10A for $2173 ! Price was marked $27xx something like that (took no notice of the ticketed price). Plus 4 yr ext warranty $399 and $76 delivery. Totalling $2648. So it's still possible. People are just not pushing hard enough. Don't trust them when they say they can't go lower. BTW, this was at JB Hifi in Top Ryde.

Hi all, parents just bought a 40Z5500. There seems to be a problem with this TV and selecting external inputs. Pressing the external input button only shows TV and one other option, cant remember what. It doesn't seem to list any HDMI ports for selection. As a result the PS3 plugged into HDMI1,2,3 or 4 is not selectable. Does this seem like a fault or is there something special I need to do to select a HdMI input? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, Looking for advise on TV antenna installers. I need a new antenna for Free to Air viewing. 1) Can anyone recommend an Antenna installer in the Sydney, Inner West region ? (good workmanship, easy to deal with, affordable) 2) And, what sort of antenna (make & model) should I be getting for Digital Free to Air (TV channels ABC, SBS, 7, 9, 10, and all the new digital channels like, One HD, ABC1, ABC2, ABC3, SBS2, 7HD, 7Two, Go!, Etc ) I have a HD STB for the TVs in the house.
