  1. thanks for looking into that for me Lyle, it turns out it was actually under the VIDEO menu parameters on page 43, the Audio for HDMI option was set to for TV + AMP, I had to set it to AMP only to get the proper 5.1 DD and DTS working, i wonder why it worked for PS3 regardless of the setting though.... anyhow, thank you so much for your help, guys, i can go to bed happy tonight
  2. TopDog, scratch what i said about you referring the dvd player, i think you are referring to the receiver? however, according to the sony website, the HT-DDWG880 does have the HDMI repeater function? unless they have made a mistake.... as mentioned though, the PS3 5.1 and DTS works fine via HDMI to the receiver...
  3. I assume you're referring to the dvd player? unfortunately, I bought the dvd player a year ago, just haven't had the chance to try out the HDMI audio until now, they probably won't be able to do anything for me. yah, i'll try and grab a copy of the Pulse magazine, can you make any recommendations on dvd players with the HDMI repeater function? thanks.
  4. i bought the dvd player about a year ago, but it's probably been out on the market for 18+ months
  5. Hi guys, I recently purchased the Sony HT-DDWG880 5.1 surround system to replace my older system because I wanted to take advantage of the HDMI connections. I've connected a Sony DPV-NS78H upscaling dvd player to it via HDMI, I haven't been able to get the player to output 5.1 surround or DTS at all for some reason, all I have been able to get is a stereo signal no matter the settings I try. The player outputs 5.1 surround and DTS fine via digital coaxial fine if I disconnect the HDMI connection from the AV receiver. I also have a PS3 connected to the AV receiver via HDMI and it outputs 5.1 surround and DTS signals fine. I tried swapping the HDMI cables and the HDMI inputs, but still get the same result. Could the HDMI port on the DVD player be faulty? I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Cheers, Ian
  6. Hello, I've recently put my first order through DVD Pacific, Amex however wouldn't accept the fund request from them, had to use my Master Card instead, just wondering if anybody else had the same problem? My bank simply said Amex have been blocking some merchants due to fradulent activities. thanks, Ian
  7. hmm...my 40gb AU PS3 seems to be only 220-240v capable? at least that's what the manual says.. and the Japanese 40GB PS3 from play-asia only supports 110v according to the website? http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bo-49-en-70-2bot.html
