  1. Bought the Jamo S506 with 250watt sub and Pioneer 919 for $1550 at JB on Sunday. Speakers were floor stock though. Receiver was basically $560.
  2. I have one available in Brisbane for $500 if anyone is interested. Cheers, Brett
  3. Chaps, My Logitech Z-5500 power source has just died. Instead of buying a cheap system, I would like to start on the path of buying medium quality gear. My question is this, am I able to buy a reciever and connect my logitech speakers to it, as well as the sub? If so what enty level reciever would you recommend? Cheers, Brett
  4. Got one, Myers gave it to me for $2187. Very happy with it. Cheers, Brett
  5. Went to harvey norman where they set up the philips LCD next to the Panasonic plasmas, the plasma was horrible. This was consistent with all the other stores we went to as well. In addition no one would do the Philips LCD for less than $2400. According to HN, their cost is $2400.
  6. I am...kinda. It just don't think I will be happy with it.
  7. Popro, That philips that you mentioned, is the tuner in it HD ? We have decided to go with a in built tuner as we don't want to put too much trust into the computer. Also I notice that its max computer resolution is 1024x768, how does this impact on performance when playing divx or playing files recorded to hard drive? Cheers, Brett
  8. I am looking at getting one of these TV's Philips 42TA2800 - $1850 BigW Toshiba 42A3000A - $1900 Toshiba 42WL68A 100Hz - $2100 None have a tuner as I would be using a HTPC as my PVR. Or there is the Sony 40V2000 at Sony Central for $1900 or so. The Sony KDL40V300 would be an option at $1750 but its silver and the missus wants black. If you were I, which would you buy? I am leaning towards the Philips, as I have always liked the picture a lot when in stores, and I can get it now without waiting, the Toshibas I need to order in. I also believe that the Philips is a newer model than the Toshibas? There is a distinct lack of information on Australian models that aren't Panasonic, LG or Sony. Cheers, Brett
  9. Where can one buy Philips LCD's at a reasonable price? Harvey Norman, and Myers but is there any smaller places who might actually know what they are talking about? EDIT: In Brisbane. Cheers, Brett
  10. I am interested in the 40" D series. Could someone PM me details of how to proceed. I am in Brisbane Edit: Have placed my name in the wiki, looking forward to hearing from someone. Cheers, Brett
  11. How is this going? I am considering purchasing this set. Cheers, Brett
  12. So is the general consensus that the 68 series are good? are they worth the extra over the non 100Hz models? I am hoping to go into a showroom this weekend and have a good look see but I think they only have the 47" model in stock, I am looking for the 37/42" sizes. Cheers, Brett
  13. I will be connecting to a HTPC, so I would dearly love to save some cash and buy without the in built tuner. So I take it that they never released this model in black? Thats a shame, I liked it a lot. I am off to look at a Toshiba place to check out their models without tuners. Cheers, Brett
  14. Hi all, I saw this TV(40") at JB on the weekend and would have bought it there and then if it was black. Is there a black version available? The missus said it has to be black... Cheers, Brett
