  1. No the motion smoother replaces the IFC on the 2011 models and there is at least 2 settings for it, high weak and off I think.
  2. I believe there is different levels on the new model so I presume it was on a high setting, turning it down may match the PZ800. It's called motion smoother now or something.
  3. Had a quick look at the 42GT30A in goodguys today. Just arrived in store, was playing Avater bluray, picture as expected was very nice didn't get much time with it though. Bezel a bit narrower then ST with a thin silver border around the black.
  4. TH-P42GT30A – Available June 2011 RRP $1,949. TH-P42ST30A – Available May 2011 RRP $1,599. TH-P42U30A – Available May 2011 RRP $1,099. TH-P42X30A – Available May 2011 RRP $849.
  5. Anyone lose the weather thing from the main menu this morning?
  6. Australia and Europe sets both use 96hz for 24P playback. So its a non issue.
  7. Yeah its pretty darn good, been watching extras all afternoon, nice to see everything in HD.
  8. Mine was also from DVD Pacific as Hakka mentioned. Order placed on Monday.
  9. Not sure about the PX80s, I would imagine they would be. The US PZ800U model was the one with 48hz and some reported flickering issues but thankfully we got 96hz mode as well as Europe. We did miss out on THX mode though. I am hoping a firmware upgrade may fix horizontal lines in certain circumstances on IFC mode though. I have contacted Panasonic about it waiting on a response.
  10. You are aware the PZ800 is at 96hz on 24P signals...
  11. A quick question for someone, just on the IFC, has anyone noticed with it on, while it smooths the picture out it can be sometimes jerky, like on home and away for example, it seesm to stutter? I've also noticed some horizontal lines occasionally and turning off IFC removes it. Just curious if anyone else has noticed the same. cheers.
  12. He said all over the world, that is what I am referring to not the local thread here mate.
  13. Found this and thought it may be relevant, makes a bit of sense. "Many of the new receivers like Onkyo TX-SR805 have HDMI 1.3a and are capable of decoding the new lossless audio codecs internally. Letting PS3 decode for your receiver in this case constitutes a trade off in audio quality. Due to hardware limitations Sony’s PlayStation 3 cannot bitstream DTS-HD-MA to your receiver. That is what would be required to let your receiver do the decoding. You’re left with the built-in PS3 Digital-Analog Converter (DAC) doing any decoding for you. The decoding of a digital format is probably the largest part of what dictates the acoustic quality outside your speakers. The PS3 may have good quality DACs built-in but as a $500 gaming machine it’ll pale in comparison to the job performed by a $2000 receiver. Bitstreaming (as is offered by only a handful of upcoming dedicated Blu-ray players) is the best sound-quality option. But hey – PS3 plays games."
  14. What's the story, they are not actually in stock? Or just slack to ship?????
  15. Placed an order on the weekend, all titles showing as in stock but has not shipped, showing 1 filled and 3 on backorder. This normal?
  16. I'm guessing the op turned on all the PCM output formats (20ish) over HDMI on the PS3, because if not it will down sample the signal.
  17. Hi, what is your bluray player? If it is the PS3 it should be showing just PCM as the PS3 decodes the audio and outputs it via HDMI. cheers.
