  1. If you connect a PC to a 42" 1024 x 768 panel, does it look ok?
  2. Hi all I have a Denon AVR1602 (about 5 years old) with Accusound Delta speakers and a Wharfedale SW150 sub. Occasionally, I get a "clicking noise" coming through the speakers. You know the sound when you plug live speakers into a PC...well, it sounds like that but it's not as long - it's really short. I recently moved my system from one wall to another and have only noticed it since then. I use a Belkin surge board (the big sucker) and it is plugged into the same power point as before. It happens on any channel on the amp/receiver so it's not channel specific. Any other ideas as to what it could be? Thanks
  3. If you have a spare SD card lying around, you can do it yourself. Someone has posted the file in this thread, so just format an SD and copy the SEC file to it. If you don't have a spare SD, you can buy one for a few bucks - you won't need a large capacity one. And if they didn't call you back, how did you know that they "refused" to call you back?
  4. Can someone confirm that if we simply format an SD card in FAT32, copy the SEC file to it and put it in the TV, the update should work? I need to ring Panasonic back and give them my serial number to get the card, but since I have spare one, I might as well do it myself. I'm not fussed if I don't get the 512 MB card.
  5. Agreed - the ghost lines are just part of the display. The effect is called crosstalk. See this link http://www.techmind.org/lcd/crosstalk2.html (hit the back button for more information about crosstalk) The clicking noise probably won't be fixed either - how often though do you have bright flashes on the display?
  6. What happens if you try optical out from the TV to the amp? Is it in sync and in 5.1? And what if you have component out from the PVR to the TV and optical out from the PVR to the amp? Is it in sync then?
  7. Once someone has received the SD card, could someone grab the files from it and post it on the net for everyone else? I have 50" 70A.
  8. Same here - just rang and 'Mark' has logged my fault and he said I will be contacted in the next 10 working days. He asked me to describe the fault and even though Southern Cross 10 HD doesn't have the issue, I just said it garbles during the government ads. I still want the update in case we ever move to a capital city.
  9. I think I've heard this as well...can't remember what I was watching though.
  10. Was the clicking noise from the speakers or the panel itself? Does anyone know if the clicking sound is related to the auto update feature?
  11. What's the clicking issue you guys are talking about. Is it from the panel itself or from the speakers?
  12. I have the 50" 70A and it has fantastic PQ. I personally recommend them. It's not perfect, ie it has its flaws (such as the sound break up issue) but for best bang for the buck, Panasonics are great.
  13. It looks like your theatre is at the front of the house so I'm assuming it'll have windows? I would try and stick the HT in the middle of the house so it won't have any windows.
  14. Wow, that's awesome. I will demand the same treatment for mine.
  15. If it is indeed a software fix, do you think we'll be able to do it?
  16. Just rang Panasonic and left my details. The guy said that they are aware of the problem and they are currently working on a fix in conjunction with Channel 10. I was going to mention that it occurs with other channels as well but I didn't bother. He said that the issue could also fix itself automatically due to the broadcasters. We'll wait and see.
  17. Found this link http://www.pasctraining.panasonic.com/Spec.../downloads1.asp The TH50PX70A doesn't have a SD card slot so if a firmware upgrade is ever released, how can it be updated?
  18. (PX5070A) I was watching soccer this morning (UEFA CL - Barcelona vs Lyon) and everytime there was a full crowd shot, the picture and sound would go choppy. Very weird. Anyone else see this? Anyone had any progress with Panasonic?
  19. (50PX70A) We were watching 7HD tonight and the sound was "staticy" the whole way through. The other SD 7 channels were fine. I'm going to check if it's the actual reception by recording some 7HD using my laptop and USB tuner. Please let us know if anyone makes any progress with Panasonic.
  20. Just watch TV using the inbuilt tuner, connect the audio optical out to the receiver and switch the receiver to whichever input it is connected to. Either use the sound on the TV or mute it and use the amp.
  21. We don't get many HD shows but I'm sure I've watched Law and Order once on HD and didn't notice any sound issues.
  22. I'll watch a couple of HD shows during the week and see if I notice it. Surely not every 7 series Panasonic LCD and plasma has the issue. Or do they?
