  1. Hi All I suggest buying the new BeyonwizT3. I bought mine just over 3 months ago and I really love it. There have been, and still are, some bugs in it, but with a very active and helpful forum these are rapidly being ironed out. It has an Autotimer on it whereby once the timer is set, it will automatically update and add timers as the program appears in the broadcasters schedule. Since having the T3 I have only missed the end of a program by a slight margin on 2 occasions. You can also set one off timers. It has Hbbtv on it whereby you can watch programs you may have missed. So far only the ABC with Iview is fully functional at the moment, but SBS, & and 9 are putting out a signal saying that they will be working by the end of this year. There are so many features and so much to like, who would not want to buy one of these? Regards Lance
  2. Hear hear. I totally agree with you. At the end of movies my wife and I like to see who sang the various songs on the soundtrack etc. and the cast list. Absolutely no chance of reading the end credits for that. Do you ever think that those who run the TV stations will please their audience....no way, as they are a self serving bunch of morons. Oh! and watch out for the weekends when they leave the work release students in charge Regards Lance
  3. Hi Folks. Reading what will be presented on channel 73 (7mate), it appears that we are being presented with yet another crap American channel on free to air TV. What a bl**dy waste! Regards Lance
  4. Panasonic emailed as per BigBad64's post Regards Lance
  5. Hi Again. Quote "Surely it has to be a Panasonic problem particular to the device if 24 is showing up OK on our other equipment?" No, apparently StormyKnight has the same problem on his Philips TV. So it is occurring on equipment other than the Panasonic 300 or 500. Regards Lance
  6. Hi Folks In too have the same problem as Bigbad64 and also have posted here in more detail. http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s=&...t&p=1583194 Regards Lance
  7. Hi Folks I have the DMR-XW500. I Tuned in ABC channel 24 last week, sound and picture fine. Two days ago picture suddenly disappeared. Tried everything to get the picture back, retunes, resets etc. all to no avail - just sound without vision. I thought that I had a problem with my unit,so I am somewhat relieve to find that others have the same problem. I trust the either the ABC will sort out their transmission (if this is the cause of the problem) or Panasonic will soon fix it with a software update. I also have Panasonic Plasmas and the XW-450 recorder , No problems with any of these. Regards Lance
  8. Jesus. Oops! Unfortunately I have just waded through the biggest load of s**t on this site. Most of that should have been done by the posters using private emails between one another, and not exposing other members of this site to, what should be, private differences. It's this sort of thing that devalues the usefulness of this site, and certainly detracts from that, the value, and interest of this site. Perhaps the moderators should step in and do something to stop this going on. I know from reading on this site that there is obviously a lot of enmity between Alanh and Dr P, which, in my opinion, should not happen in public on this site. Sorry about this rave........but.....a 71 year old just could no longer sit back and not (perhaps it should be NOT) say something. Disgusted Lance.
  9. Sorry folks Yammy sold and gone to good home today. Thanks to all who expressed an interest in the Yammy. Regards Lance
  10. The Yammy weighs in at 17kg plus packaging and the Topfield 5.2kg plus packaging. that would be near your flight weight limit. Yammy only just out of warranty and Toppy well out. Both in excellent condition. Regards Lance

  12. Hi All Here in Tweed Heads. Yes we have been getting that problem with drop outs for about a week now. Bloody annoying! As we live in a difficult reception area thought the problem may be just local, obviously not. Had no drop outs at all until last week, reception of Prime from Mt Nardi has always been rock solid so must blame the transmission source. Regards Lance

  15. Watch out Mr.Bitey Too much of that ice cream and you will have to "Dance Your Ass (Arse) Off. Joke!!! Regards Lance
  16. Hi All I bought 3 Blu-ray movies from Aldi this morning. Great Joy!! They are all Warner Bros discs and load straight into the movie without having to go through all that up front crap that so many of them do. Watching a movie less than a minute after putting it into the player to me is a big plus. You would think some of the other manufacturers would use their brains and do the same. Regards Lance
  17. Tis Have you tried looking at the Australian made Richter range of speakers. They have a superb sound and are better value than most of the imported ones. Regards Lance
  18. I live at Tweed Heads in NSW on the border with QLD. We get the following TV broadcasts from Mount Nardi (NSW) transmitter:- ABC SBS SC10 Prime and NBN all in DST - 1hour ahead of QLD time. ...and the following TV broadcasts from the Mount Tambourine (QLD) transmitter:- ABC SBS SC10 Prime 7 NBN 9 and finally 10 all 1hour later than the NSW broadcasts. So we have quite a choice with all those transmissions and the time difference, although at times it can drive you crazy. Regards Lance
  19. Hi All Just received my portable DVD player by Registered Post. Just 27 days from entering and winning. I am very pleased with the unit, a very handy bonus. I bought a Panasonic plasma on Friday (50PZ800a) so I will try my luck again. Regards Lance
  20. Not a good idea as having feet allows air to enter through the bottom slots for ventilation. I can imagine what damage you could cause if you did what the salesman suggested. What an uninformed wanker he must be. Regards Lance
  21. Hi All Received my SD card about half an hour ago. Following the instructions it took less than 10 minutes to update the Plasma (50PX 70a). Very simple, No problems. Have had the plasma running for over 20 minutes on 10HD (12), and ads which formerly exhibited the sound problem are now showing with Perfect Sound. Thanks Panasonic for the great service. Lance
  22. I owned a Marantz once .......... NEVER again. It was crap, and it could not drive my Richter Dragons. Since then I have had 2 Yamaha receivers (updating to the 2600 model with HDMI connections). Yamaha are wonderful receivers with a lovely sound and I for one would recommend them. Regards Lance
  23. Hi All I too have the DBRH197 and do not find that channel changing is any slower than any other digital tuning device (I also have an LG 106cm HDTV with built in HD digital tuner, a Topfield Masterpiece and 2 Strong SRT5390 boxes to compare with). Most of the channels put out a now/next EPG, but not all, which the DBRH displays without any problems. The ABC is best with a one to two day EPG currently. A few weeks back their EPG was doing 5 days. With the DBRH197 I always use the ABC EPG to record from the ABC. It always works and the timing is very good. I, as you will see in previous postings, think this is a wonderful machine. Recording to DVD from HDD is a cinch and the quality of the recording is brilliant. Regards Lance
  24. I have dubbed several recordings from HDD to DVD and they retain their 16:9 aspect ratio. So no problems there. You can also select to fast record to DVD from the HDD which saves a lot of time. The ONLY thing I dislike about this recorder is that it does not title the recordings on the HDD as they are taken off air. I have to go to the the recorded program files the next morning and title them. But that is only a minor irritation compared to all the other features and the brilliant PQ of the LG recorder. I would whole heartedly recommend this machine over the others you listed. Regards Lance
