  1. This is reposted from one of charliebeagle's previous posts, I can't get it to work though
  2. I got my replacement set on Friday ... Seems it still has the compression problems Though it doesn't seem as bad as my first set
  3. I've been using a 2000a for several months now (got it for $600 at the 'Good Guys'), and I haven't had any problems with it at all. The only slight annoyance it has is the range of the remote is piss poor, and sometimes when I use another remote (say my AV recievers) it may change channel for no reason. Apart from that it gets the thumbs up from me
  4. I also purchased one of these units from Big W, I am having a minor problem though. When using the S-Video out on my dgtech 2000a to the front or back to the s-video in on the recorder the picture is displayed ok, but then flickers between black and white and colour I also get the same problem using the RCA connection (plus a nasty checkerboard effect). I then tried my VCR and the same problem occured. The most strange thing is my parents teac dvb-300 displays fine (using the rca) and my old mono vcr is fine as well Any suggestions?
  5. What geometry settings is everyone using for xga? (specifically a dg tech 2000a) I'm having trouble getting the bottom of the image in a staight line i.e when I bring up the channel info or setting menu, the right hand side is slightly curved up. Though DVD's seem to have the same problem Any suggestions?
  6. CRT just means Cathode Ray Tube (aka Conventional Television/PC Monitors). Though there are plenty of CRT Widescreens around
  7. hmmm so the compression is actually a problem with the set ... Might have to get in contact with Palsonic about this then
  8. My parents just bought one of these sets and it suffers from the problem you have described with the uneven edges (we are using a dh-2000a as well), I wonder if this is a TV set issue or with the dh-2000a? BTW, has anyone noticed that the picture gets squashed slighty at the left and right edges when the picture is 16:9 fullscreen (both DVD and DTV)? I have found it is most noticeable when text scrolls across horizontally.
  9. Thanks for the link, looks like I will be staying with my 21" monitor than spending money on one of these "HD" sets (all the power to those who have bought them and are happy though )
  10. Hey all, A quick question, is the 76WSHD actually capable of displaying a resolution of 1920X1080i? or does it just take the 1080i input and convert it to its native res? I'm thinking of picking one of these up, 'cause I'm sick of watching HD on my 21" Trinitron (via VGA on DH-2000a). But if they don't display the proper 1920x1080i res I'll just keep watching HD through my monitor
