  1. And the rolling lines problem is exactly the same phenomina as the ati radeon rolling lines prob. Try a differenent power outlet and ditch the power extension cable. If this doesn't work get an electrition to check it out. Getting rid of the extension cord worked for me (TV) New power supply worked for the radeon (300w to 400w) Hope this helps
  2. there aren’t any RGB connectors into the Palsonic 76WSHD. I think you could be confusing the HiDef Y Pb Pr inputs which are colour difference signal inputs not RGB. Likewise the DVD input, although Y Cb Cr, it too, is a colour difference signal inputs not RGB. So what is RGB then, I had an old monitor with the same inputs and it was called rgb.
  3. Visionplus drivers just appeared on Windows update - should they be installed?
  4. Logically I would say the XGA but depends on the rez outputted by the DVD player. Try both and mess with the DVD settings a bit and see what you prefer.
  5. Set the PS2 DVD Oprions to 16:9 (not the PS2 menu setupscreen) you have to play a DVD first tthen access the setup menu. do not use zoom - for any reason, it is for people who don't know any better. (An analogue method for fixing aspect ratios with sever loss of image) Anyway did you know this TV handles 1280 x 768 @ 60hz - (native widescreen monitor rez) quite well via a PC - combined with the visionplus dtv card, it craps on any standalone set top box .
  6. Greetz ray888 You cannot access the same buttons when in HDTV mode, the TV acts more like a PC monitor. The menu button gives you most of the controls. If you have a device that utilizes the VGA or RGB (ypp) connections then that device will be better suited for changing things like aspect ratios and resolutions, be it a PC or set top box. Just square up the picture via the menu using A 16x9 DVD so there are no gaps and you will be fine. contrast and brightness is usually down to personal taste. - set the contrast all the way up and work from there until you get the best pic. Cheers
  7. Greetz Begbie, thanks for the reply. I used these tools & Apps, not necessarily in this order: SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer 2.5 Xboxdash Progressive Patch xboxdash dvd region free patch v1.03 Pal to NTSC mode switch boot (Installed with Slayers) Set EVOX to AUTO in regards to display mode (PAL, NTSC) Added a network place for the XBOX in XP so I can browse and edit the XBOX using drag and drop. Using the YPP (rgb) inputs on my TV via the HD pack. Only need YCC (comp) for dashboard? (thought the patch would fix this) Will post the ini settings soon.
  8. I bought the XBOX HD Adapter from liksang and have had some interesting results. I have a Palsonic HDTV which apparently is almost exactly the same as the Rank Arena so it should achieve the same. After patching the XBOX for HD my Palsonic wasn't displaying the picture correctly. The XBOX was hooked up to the Component inputs. Trying something different I connected the XBOX to the RGB inputs on the TV and low and behold, An excellent picture, the dash doesn't display mind you but I rigged up the cable to display the dash via the component input - So it is just a matter of changing channels on the TV. I thought the XBOX HD adapter was component only? XBOX Media player menus are of center, is their a fix for this? Cheers
  9. Doesn't work! Better with the RGBHV signal than component anyway. Does the DVD Player have RGB output at all?
  10. Seems that some resolutions exhibit these problems. I use my PC for HD broadcasts with a resolution of 1280 x 768 and 1024 x 768 on this TV without the banding. Mind you, these are at 60hz. My Old DVD Player via VGA did produce banding from time to time but the image was inferior than that from the PC. What is 1080i via pc vga output? 540 x 384? Can't you adjust the bow via the TV menu adjustments?
  11. I am using this TV connected to my HTPC via the sec DVI/VGA output. The Palsonic is running at an undocumented resolution of 1280 x 768 @ 60hz with no problems. The graphics adapter is a Radeon 9500pro. For HDTV I am using a Visionplus VP-DTV card and it looks fabulous on this set - none of the problems you guys seem to be having. Maybe it is the set top boxes causing these problems. I have a Conia DVD player with a VGA output and it sometimes causes a diagonal wavy pattern for no apparent reason, the same disc on the HTPC doesn't exhibit this problem. Anyway, this TV rocks connected to a HTPC This is attributed to signal strength - play with the antenna 90% plus is ideal. You can turn this option off, can't remember what it is called at the moment Cheers.
