Hi all, Am currently in Japan, just got home from purchasing the SR-009s and the SRM-D10. Already have the SR-009 at home in AU and did a direct comparison with a store set of 009. Initial impression was that it was smoother and warmer, most noticeable in the vocal range maybe a little more detailed but I will confirm that later with my home setup. Will write. Little more when I’ve been able listen a little more. Suffice to say I was impressed enough to fork out the big ones but maybe i’m just too easy to get. Will add photos soon.

Thanks guys for the input, I'll put those 2 onto the list to visit. I did look briefly around the web and did come across audio union but it didn't seem like they sold headphones as they seem to advertise vinyl. So thanks for that heads up.

Hi All, Slightly old thread but I thougth I 'd ask. Heading to Japan in September to audition and mostly likely buy the SR-009s. Can anyone recommend any good hi end shops around tokyo ? I usually buy my gear through yodobashi in shinjuku. Thanks in advance.

I find the stax amp to be a little lacking in power at the bottom end and sounding a bit "thin". It's not that I dislike the sound, it was pretty much the only option I could afford at the time. I mostly listen to a lot of female vocals, have a lot of music from Japan. So I tend to focus my priority there. (sidebar its really hard trying to buy DSDs in Japan with an overseas CC)

Hi, Sorry if it sounded abrupt i certainly didn't mean for it to sound that way. Its currently paired with the stax 007tii, which i can finally afford to replace. Only recently started looking around again as saving that kind of money took me a while.

Am heading out to listen to the BHSE tomorrow to pair with my 009s, looking for opinions on amps from anyone who owns a pair of 009s and what amps they connect them to.
