  4. Hi Johnno, I have an Accuphase E-303 available for $2200. It was recapped roughly 2-3 years ago and had a clean out and service. Beautiful condition.
  5. No problem! Yes unfortunately this will not cater for those...
  6. Thanks! It's certainly built very well. Almost a tube like sounding amp. I have loved every minute of music pumped out from this thing. But need to sell for a costly hobby. It will be missed greatly!

  8. THanks very much guys, I had Jason Boyd from SPEAKERDOCTOR pick them up last week and he is replacing the Caps for me. Can't wait ti get them back!! They are my only hifi speakers and I have been missing the sounds they produce! Hope the re-cap improves the sound a bit too
  9. HI there, I was just about to post a subject asking for 'Speaker repair in Perth' when I came upon this post: I have a question about my Pioneer CS99A's. I bought them recently off a friend form work and they are in mint condition. They actually look like they have just come out of the box!!! They sound great to me and every speaker & tweeter seem to be working fine, but should I replace the caps? And is there anyone in the Perth area who could replace the capacitors for me? I am happy to pay you whatever you think is fair! And I am happy to drop them at your house or business or you could come to mine... I am in Shelley. I have them hooked up to my Accuphase e303 and a Technics sl1200. I couldn't find any Business in Perth that will work on Vintage speakers and I would rather have someone from these forums work on them whom I trust. Thanks for your consideration.. John
  10. Hello is this combo still for sale?
  11. far out! thanks so much mate. you just made my day!
  12. Hi there, I have purchased a sl1200mk5 from the states and will be using a stepdown transformer to convert the voltage. My Question is, will it be ok as it is rated at 60hz and of course its 50hz over here! I know that some sl1200/10's have a switch but after checking the mk 5's manual doesn't look like it. i have also heard the sl1200's are designed to run on 50 & 60Hz... will it be ok? has anyone had a similar experience. thanks
  13. Hi all! Just ordered 2 technics sl1200mk5's and waiting for them to arrive via USPS. Pretty sure they come with the Technics slip mat which I don't intend to use. Is anyone in the Perth area interested in swapping their Rubber mat (1/4) for my slipmat/s? I will have 2. Also interested in the KAB mat made for use as an audiophile TT... PM me or my no. is 0458797741! CHeers JOHN
  14. ok. Do I need to spend hundreds of $$$ on a pre amp or could I get a decent one for around $50?
  15. Well I've been looking at seconds from Pioneer or Yamaha online. YOu can buy them online with a full warranty + free delivery. http://www.excelhifi.com.au/ (for YAMAHA) https://shop.pioneer.com.au/itf/phx/phoenix.nsf/Index (PIONEER) I think I'll do some research first. Might end up buying new as don't want a dodgy unit but saving so much would be great!
  16. Great! I'm pretty to new to this "digital world" I have old Amps and a very basic setup. In the future I will look into some good speakers for my TT+ Better receiver. I just wanted to make sure I would get some decent sound and some good bass. Some Theatre systems speakers look small and un-capable (if thats a word)!
  17. Hi all, I'm sure this has been covered many times but can't find anything too specific. I am looking to purchase a yamaha Home Theatre system for my Tv. Probably a 894aub. I would like to know if this system would be good enough for now to also play my Turntable through? I am keeping in mind that down the track I will def have to purchase some decent speakers for my TT. However after hearing the sound of this system today at JB I was quite impressed. ( DONT worry I will be purchasing a Preamp). So would this system be good for some good sound for now? My music is mainly Rock/ JAzz and also lots of classical. Thanks heaps for any advice! JOhn
  18. thanks very much everyone, i think I.ll try the ortofon 2m red for now. Budget also to consider! I can red them on ebay for around $100.
  19. Thats good to hear! i have heard a lot of audiophiles using the sl1200 as a home TT and with just an upgraded cartridge. Looking forward to settting it all up properly. Thanks for your advice, did you buy your sl1200 new? if so did it come with the standard rubber mat? as this is the mat I intend to use.
  20. great! have you upgraded your toner arm aswell as the 2m cartridge or do you find this works well with standard technics arm. cheers
  21. well I have just bought a technics sl 1200 and will be adding a shure 97 cartridge plus 1/8 mat. more upgrades later but this should produce excellent sound quality. I will be playing mostly vocal /jazz. the sl 1200s are still on ebay brand new for around $1100
  22. I have read through a few forums, For long hours of listening and for higher freq playing- The SHURE M97XE looks like a good Cartridge. Would this be good for home use??
  23. I have purchased them, but they are on there way from USA. Good to know they don't come with cartridges so I can order them. Any reccomendations? $80-150?? or would I have to spend more.
