thanks guys for the suggestions so far. keep 'em coming.
yep watching the one on ebay. we'll see.
skippy I might be interested in your AU 3900 - i shall do some research re the difference with the 4900
-
Yep, I'd like to buy a Sansui AU 4900 amp or similar.
Needs to be in good working order and condition.
Budget of approx $200 - $250 including shipping if necessary to Adelaide.
Will consider other amps of similar nature but would prefer the above to match my tuner.
thanks,
Rod.

should be a winning combo of great gear and a gentlemen to deal with.
have fun Keith.

they'll never catch on I tells ya!

FYI, there are some excellent performers visiting our town next month.
This event might conflict with a few other happensing but I reckon it's worth a look at this WOMAD side event.
for more info see http://www.earthstationfestival.com.au/

Yeah, thanks Bear and Em. Very nice of you to open up your digs to a bunch of assorted SNAers.
The highlights are agreed, the sausage rolls, the Gales, Hugo the wonder dog, old friends, new friends.
....now what is next... Prog and Grog, Folk and Smoke...?
Rod.

this thread should be fun...it reminds me we used to play a little quiz game here

Well guys, I popped into the Espy on Tuesday night and tried out to be on Rockwiz but alas I did not make it through to the lot that gets to be on the telly thus my first album purchase shall remain a secret amongst us. Thanks very much Mark for your tips you old hand you. They do seem to recycle a few questions. We apparently got to see one of the bumper shows for the year as a couple of international artists were passing through town - one of which stole the show!
Prof, my tip for getting tickets would be to apply for standing up and put yourself down as a contestant...better still get a lady friend to put herself forward as a contestant as they like to have some gender balance and not many ladies put their hands up.
Sorry to say i didn't have time to catch up with any local SNAers this trip nor did I buy any vinyl:(...i did buy a few cd's from one shop but they shall remain nameless as when i got home I found they supplied me with mostly empty cd cases....grrrrr! they are posting the missing discs.

Yeah - ditch those silly old Gales instead, Bear.
yeah, I'll take the Gales. just put 'em out front and I'll get them out of you way.
-
excellent, bring them to SA Rotur!
-
Sounds like a fine and generous plan Bear.
Pencil me in for the Sept 25th...dunno if G will be working or not yet.
-
Yep. all sold, packed and sent off.
thanks folks
-
i'd be interested to know more about the 50mm 1.8, Old 50mm and prices for separate sale etc
-
Looks like we have a sale folks....
-
640 x 340 x 245 mm Bear.
I've just had a pretty firm inquiry though Bear so let me know soon if you do want them.
-
Ok, I just tripped over these in hallway. Why are they still here I am asked??
Maybe I advertised them to cheaply and thus you think they are no good...you can pay me way more for them if you like!
-
I'll take it if the above offer falls through.
thanks,
Rod.

SMOG i think was the band name Mike with Bill C up front...could be wrong though but. Only say that as they/he also was in Golden Smog for a while.
If I was planning to be famous I would invent an odd name too so that later you can slip back into some level of obscurity.
Beck...there's a nother one.
oh and Jack Black.
-
Jeepers Ted, you sure you want to sell this ...your system was sounding so good when I last heard it. i say it would be hard to get a marked improvement???
-
-
If you do sell separately I'd like the AMC amp subject to price and posting to Adelaide.
Rod.
-
beautiful amp.
does yours say 'pilot lump' instead of pilot lamp...very funny Japanese to English translation in the instruction manual too.

WTB Sansui AU 4900 amp or similar
in Wanted to Buy
Posted
thanks for posting the specs John.
22 watts is prob enough for this application but i may keep looking for a AU 4900.
the one that was on ebay went for a little over $100 - did i miss a bargain there or was there something wrong with that one that i didn't notice.
Alan, thanks for the offer on the 317 but i'm trying to match the amp with a tuner i have had for ages and they are somewhat distinctive in their appearance and dimensions. cheers tho.
