These Meridian DSP3200 Speakers sound amazing. Meridian was one of the pioneers of active speakers, over three decades ago. These are part of their current range of speakers. They feature Meridian's DSP sound correction and Meridian's sound link ethernet-style digital rj45 connection. There is a snag- rather than just being an active speaker, they are part of a system and require a Meridian 210, 0r 218 to operate. Do bear that in mind, perfect if you have a r=meridian system currently, an additional expense if you don't. I do have some Meridian streamers and connectors on hand at bargain prices too. I also have a larger pair of Meridian DSP speakers available. I haven't listed them yet, but feel free to enquire. Now here is something that doesn't show up on StereoNet very often, if at all. Magnapan's answer to bookshelf speakers., These are ideal for the person who is looking for something compact that doesn't sound compact. 2 x small Magnapan speakers connected to a Magnapan subwoofer. By all accounts the reviewers who had the pleasure of reviewing them over the years have been astounded by the size and scale coming from such a compact system. especially given that there is no box depth to the system. they are just panels, as you'd imagine. It's a system worth trying in our compact room, study or bedroom, you too will be amazed at the scale of the sound. You don't need too much power or loud volume to get it dialled in.
