Reason for Selling

New Speakers Imminent

SOLID HARDWOOD
OPEN BAFFLE LOUDSPEAKERS

Two Lii Song F-15-inch drivers mounted in Solid Australian Hardwood Baffles

They Measure 825mm at their widest, 900mm at the highest point & 38mm thick.

Sound is immense driven by my 4.5-watt Valve amp, they also sing with my Luxman SS amp.

The dipole effect creates a sound stage that floats way above the speakers.

Curved sides eliminate issues with baffle step and make the speakers completely disappear despite their larger size.

The Lii-Song (Lii Audio) driver fitted is the F-15 a 15-inch, high-sensitivity (approx. 97–98 dB) full-range driver

Each driver can handle up to 70-80 watts.

The high sensitivity (98 dB/w/m) means that even 1–4 watts is sufficient for typical listening rooms.

The Baffles were made by me and a local timber yard last year (2025)

Pickup Only from this Smoke Free Environment.

Reason For Sale . . . . I am making a different pair now. Cannot keep them all due to the size.

User reviews and community discussions of the Lii Audio F-15 (often called Decware F15 in Decware forums) present a polarized reputation: many praise its engaging, natural sound and value in open baffle setups after break-in, while critics highlight flaws like excessive smoothness, distortion, and limited bass extension without EQ or subs.

### Sound Quality
- Strengths: Excellent tone, clarity, and natural bass that's "fast decaying" and detailed (best some have heard, despite dropping below 50Hz); enveloping imaging, smooth mid-highs, and musicality without room interference; outperforms vintage drivers like Zenith 49cz852 for some experienced users.
- Weaknesses: Overly smooth to the point of lacking detail and resolution; "pleasant distortion" in mids adds color but colors sound too much; bad midrange/treble per measurements (e.g., upper midrange dip, audible distortion); not analytical.

### Build Quality
Limited direct comments, but users note it's a high-sensitivity 15" full-range driver designed for open baffle use, with manufacturer specs showing smooth response (though real measurements differ slightly on Qms/Ems); appears well-matched in pairs.

### Reliability
No major issues reported; improves significantly with break-in (e.g., one user called new Audio Nirvana drivers "scary" bad initially, but phenomenal after months—similar advice for F15); performs consistently in Decware-style setups.

### Strengths
- High price-performance ratio for open baffle/DIY; engaging and "revelatory" listening; great soundstage focus; versatile with subs or amps.
- Favored in Decware community over alternatives like FRX2 in some baffles.

### Weaknesses
- Bass rolls off steeply without sub/EQ; requires break-in, baffle, and placement tweaks; not enjoyable "as is" for measurement-focused listeners; distortion and smoothness flaws persist even with crossovers.

### Overall Reputation
Strongly positive among Decware and DIY enthusiasts for its artistic, fatigue-free sound (e.g., "changed me," new favorites after pricier speakers), but dismissed by analytical reviewers as flawed and unlistenable; success hinges on setup, break-in (100+ hours), and preferences for colored vs. neutral sound.

The Decware F15 Full Range Driver (manufactured by Lii Audio as the Lii Song F-15) has a fair AUD market price of approximately $550–$825 per pair for new or mint condition units landed in Australia, with used or DIY-assembled versions typically lower at $650–$1,000 USD equivalent (around AUD $975–$1,500). Prices vary significantly by condition, with new/mint drivers selling below landed RRP and complete Decware speaker builds commanding premiums.

### Typical Price Range
- New/Mint drivers (pair): AUD $550–$600 in recent Australian classifieds, versus landed cost of ~AUD $825 (from USD $522 RRP).
- Used/DIY baffle assemblies (with F15 drivers): US $649–$745 (≈ AUD $975–$1,120 at current rates) in US listings; CA $1,100 (≈ AUD $1,200).
- Complete Decware Zen Master ZF15 speakers (including custom hardwood baffles) start at USD $3,900–$4,900 (≈ AUD $5,850–$7,350), far exceeding driver-only value.

### Price Variation by Condition
- New/As New: AUD $550–$600 locally in Australia (e.g., unused project drivers).
- Used: Generally 10–20% below new, but scarce AUD data; US used assemblies suggest depreciation tied to enclosure quality.
- No explicit used driver-only AUD listings found; values inferred from global second-hand sales.

### Key Factors Affecting Value
- Condition and Usage: Mint/unused commands near-RRP; any installation wear reduces price (e.g., "as new" at 70–75% of landed cost).
- Location/Shipping: Australian listings prefer local pickup to avoid costs; imported USD $522 + shipping/ duties hits ~AUD $825.
- Bundling: Drivers alone are cheaper than baffle-integrated DIY/Decware builds (drivers ~$400 USD/pair vs. full speakers $4,000+ USD).
- Market Rarity: Low supply in Australia drives values; Decware branding adds premium despite Lii Audio origin.
- Limited recent (2024–2026) AUD data; prices stable but could fluctuate with USD/AUD exchange or demand for full-range DIY audio.

There are lot of members here with some lovely SET amps that would benefit greatly from using these open baffle designs at a really attractive price point. I agree - the woodwork looks incredible.

What's their approx weight @Nickelle ?

I love my pair of F15 drivers.

They cost nothing for the sort of sound they produce.

They are very emotionally involving if you feed them high enough quality gear, really scaling as your system get's better.
