Don’t think these need an intro if you know Focal beryllium speakers, fantastic sounding Focal’s the best Focal sound to price performance to me after hearing many in the Focal range including low to their high range.
Great over all condition will all floor spikes and protectors etc like new. Relisting much lower as kids left my door open and sadly cat has nicked one of the low bass woofers. Its has been professionally fixed and sealed from behind with rubber/speaker glue (E6000), this can only been seen when up very close and doesn't affect the sound in anyway. New woofer can be found over time for $325 AUD or Focal rubber surround kits can be found online for $100 or less if it really bothers you, even cheaper for non-originals.
Also when I got them a slight mark on one of the front metal side that can be seen only on certain angles/light as per photo, not sure what from as was there when I brought them. Likely can be removed with correct cleaner.

Pickup only due to weight 33kg each and happy to demo but only for serious buyers only.
No offers please as any lower id keep them with my collection as I've now relisted much lower than before due to the woofer.
Any questions please ask. Thanks.

## Sound Quality
Bass and Midrange
Users consistently highlight the bass as a major strength—described as tuneful, textured, and plentiful with excellent control and extension. The midrange is characterized as expressive, natural, and emotionally engaging, drawing listeners into the music with rich textures and presence.
Treble and Detail
The treble performs smoothly and naturally when properly matched with quality amplification, maintaining clarity and sparkle without harshness. The speakers are noted as highly detailed and revealing, exposing subtle sound cues and nuances that might otherwise be missed. One reviewer describes them as "one of the most revealing speakers you will come across," though this trait demands quality upstream components.
Overall Character
The 1027BE is praised for its natural tonality and coherent performance across frequencies. Vocals are described as organic and well-textured, with excellent transient response that captures the natural decay of instruments. The soundstage handles complex passages with ease, maintaining clear layering and separation.
## Build Quality and Design
Users appreciate the excellent build quality and design aesthetics. However, one reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the removable grill system, particularly the tweeter grills, which were perceived as cheap-looking and not very protective.
## Strengths and Weaknesses
Key Strengths:
- Excellent bass response with control and extension
- Emotional and musical midrange
- Extended, smooth treble
- Superb vocal reproduction
- Very good value for price-to-performance ratio
- Works well even with modest amplification (60 watts reported)
Main Weaknesses:
- Demands quality amplification despite not requiring high power
- High level of detail can be unforgiving with poor recordings or inferior components
- Removable grill design concerns
## Overall Reputation
The 1027BE is regarded as a genuinely high-end performer at a relatively accessible price point. Users describe it as "fun" and engaging without sacrificing musicality, capable of handling both upbeat modern music and serious classical material. The consensus indicates these are speakers that reward careful system matching and quality amplification, appealing to both casual listeners and audiophiles.
These estimates derive from recent Australian listings for used pairs: AUD $3,799 on Aussie Audio Mart (January 18, 2026) and AUD $4,499 on StereoNET (Queensland, recent listing), with an older 2023 StereoNET post at $4,000 for a pair in good condition with wear. The original RRP was AUD $9,999, indicating significant used depreciation.
### Price Range by Condition
| Condition | Typical AUD Range | Key Listings/Notes |
|-----------|-------------------|-------------------|
| Used (Good/Very Good) | $3,800–$4,500 | $3,799 (Aussie Audio Mart, beryllium tweeters mentioned); $4,499 (StereoNET); $4,000 (2023, some wear, no boxes) |
| Used (Refurbished/Excellent) | $4,000+ | Recent tweeter replacements noted (e.g., AUD $1,363 cost in one vague listing), potentially adding value |
| New | Not available | No current new listings; RRP $9,999 suggests new prices exceed $9,000 if found |
Key factors affecting value:
- Condition and maintenance: Wear, missing boxes, or recent repairs like pure beryllium tweeter replacements (costing ~$1,363) boost prices.
- Location: Australian listings cluster at higher values than international used sales (e.g., €2,500–€2,700 abroad).
- Market timing: Prices stable around $4,000 in recent months, with no upward trend in 2026 data; demand for Focal high-end models supports this floor.
- Accessories: Original boxes or stands increase appeal, as seen in lower offers without them.
Prices may fluctuate with local demand or economic factors; check current listings for real-time accuracy.
