The A5cr has been part of the system for quite a while now. It really powers my Audio Physic speakers beautifully. Has ample power to control most speakers, power almost doubling into 4 ohms.

255 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms (24dBW),

416 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms

 

I have matched it with a variety of valve preamps and the sound to my ears in beautiful. The best match was the Conrad Johnson CT 5. I have had a few Musical Fidelity snobs change their mind upon hearing my system. I think it’s the real deal and a bargain for the price.

 

I don’t have the original box but have a box that suits hat was sent over with the amp from Len Wallas audio when previous owner bought it. I haven’t listened to my system for 12 months and got some other things on and don’t think I’ll be in a position to set the system up for a while.

Make no mistake on this - for anyone looking for powerful muscle yet with  " gossamer delicacy "  than this is one of the great finds ..... look up the review. June 2005 Hi-Fi News review  or April HiFi World  ..... plus many other reviews ....     classic MF before they got to be astronomically priced today for their top end .........  and agree with kelossus that is a great price ......   incredible musical bargain .....    would be all over this if I didn't have a few classics MF amps stashed away ........   GLWTS
