While the silhouette recalls the original “simple black column” that helped establish TIDAL’s reputation, the new Piano Classic is infused with the brand’s latest technologies, materials, and design refinements.

The company describes the Piano Classic as a return to its roots — a product that embodies the core TIDAL philosophy of crafting timeless, ultra‑refined loudspeakers that deliver a sound so pure and natural it defies description. According to TIDAL, this model carries the unmistakable DNA that has defined the brand for over two decades.

Positioned as the entry point to the TIDAL ecosystem, the Piano Classic is designed without compromise, and promises the same obsessive craftsmanship and engineering found throughout the company’s flagship range.

TIDAL's original Piano Classic

The Piano Classic is built around a passive 2.5‑way multi‑chamber cabinet constructed from waterproof HDF and finished in TIDAL’s signature midnight black piano lacquer.

Here, a mechanically decoupled 30 mm black‑ceramic tweeter sits in a stainless‑steel mounting assembly with a velvet‑coated aluminium front plate, while two 170 mm black‑crystal mid‑woofers and woofers handle the lower registers. An aluminium clamping system ensures optimal driver stability.

Inside, the loudspeaker features a passive crossover network using “ultra‑low‑tolerance components”, including Supreme capacitors, Supreme resistors, low‑resistance air‑core inductors, and ultra‑resistance bass inductors. The crossover itself is isolated in its own chamber using TIDAL’s uno‑pulse design and weighs an impressive 13 kg (28 lbs) on its own.

The speaker is equipped with silver binding posts and TIDAL’s Vario‑terminal, offering three setup modes: Pure 2‑way for very small rooms, Linear 2.5‑way for medium‑sized rooms, and Gained 2.5‑way for larger spaces or listeners seeking additional bass presence.

Additional touches include stainless‑steel isolators, eight black‑coated aluminium trigger bars, and a design optimised for excellent low‑level listening performance.

The Piano Classic offers a nominal power handling of 150/300 VA, a 4‑ohm impedance (minimum of 3.2 ohms), and is recommended for amplifiers delivering 30 watts or more. Each speaker stands 46 inches tall (or 47.6 inches with Vario feet) and weighs 52 kg (120 lbs).

The TIDAL Piano Classic is available to order now at a retail price of US$31,990 per pair in Midnight Black piano lacquer, of course.
