Boasting a streamlined and easy-to-install design, Sonus faber sees its new Aster loudspeaker perfect for entertaining outside spaces. The brand adds that while its compact organic shape is attractive, it can still "guarantee rich bass immersion".

The 195 x 330 x 150mm (208mm with bracket) (HxWxD) Aster features symmetrical passive radiators to bolster the 5.25-inch midbass unit and 1-inch tweeter crossing over at 1.8 kHz. Together the two-way design speaker produces a claimed  60Hz – 32kHz frequency response with a sensitivity listed as 88dB (2.83 Vrms@1m).

Making it easy for the DIYer as well as the installation professional, Aster's mounting bracket system means that all you have to do is screw the bracket into the wall and then offer up the cabinet and the other half of the bracket with a quick and easy turn. The simple bayonet system will then lock in place, and it is done.

Finally, a spring mechanism inside the cabinet allows you to tilt the speaker in 15-degree increments - no need to adjust anything with a screw.

Sonus faber's Aster is available now, priced at £375 each.
