Scansonic’s New M Series Offers High-End Sound Without the High Price

Scansonic has unwrapped its latest M Series loudspeakers, reinforcing its commitment to high-fidelity sound at accessible price points while ensuring an outstanding balance of performance and affordability.
With a heritage that draws on the innovation and expertise of its sister brand Raidho, Scansonic’s new lineup blends precise engineering with Scandinavian design, delivering an immersive audiophile experience without the premium price tag.The M Series consists of three models and are offfered in black or white satin gloss finishes. There is the M15.2 standmount, the M20.2 floorstander, and the M30.2 flagship floorstander—each showcasing the brand’s signature craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The M15.2 is a compact yet powerful two-way standmount speaker featuring a ribbon tweeter and a 6.5” mid-bass woofer, complemented by a 5x9” passive radiator on the rear panel. Designed for smaller to mid-sized rooms, it delivers striking clarity, refined detail, and impressive low-end extension given its size.
Stepping up to the M20.2, this sleek 2.5-way floorstanding speaker integrates a ribbon tweeter with dual 5.25” mid-bass woofers and two rear-mounted 5x9” passive radiators. Its slim profile makes it a versatile choice for a range of listening environments, while its ability to deliver room-filling sound with precise imaging and deep, articulate bass makes it a standout in its class.

The flagship M30.2 takes performance even further with a three-way configuration, featuring a ribbon tweeter, a dedicated 4.5” midrange driver, and dual 6.5” bass drivers. Supported by two 5x9” passive radiators, Scansonic says it delivers authoritative bass, an open midrange, and crystalline highs.
The company adds the core of the M Series’ remarkable performance is their proprietary ribbon tweeter, which it claims significantly outperforms traditional dome tweeters. With a much lower moving mass, the ribbon design allows for exceptional speed and accuracy, translating into lifelike detail, airy highs, and an extended frequency response. This ensures that subtle nuances in vocals and instrumentation are rendered with pristine clarity, without harshness or distortion.

Another key innovation across the M Series is the use of rear-facing passive radiators instead of traditional bass reflex ports. The company states that this design enhances low-frequency response while eliminating unwanted turbulence and port noise, resulting in tighter, more controlled bass. Additionally, the passive radiator system allows for greater placement flexibility, making the speakers adaptable to different room sizes and layouts without compromising performance.
The M Series’ mid-bass drivers also benefit from an advanced four-material cone composition, which carefully balances strength, rigidity, and elasticity. According to Scansonic, this design minimizes unwanted resonances while ensuring rapid transient response and excellent internal damping, leading to a smoother, more natural playback. Combined with premium crossover components—often found in significantly more expensive loudspeakers—the M Series achieves superior signal integrity, improved phase alignment, and an immersive, holographic soundstage.

With a strong commitment to both engineering precision and Scandinavian aesthetics, it's not hard to see how Scansonic has crafted the M Series to embody an ideal fusion of form and function, ensuring a refined yet accessible listening experience. The company claims that every aspect, from cabinet bracing to crossover design, has been rigorously tested to deliver an audio experience that far exceeds expectations at its price point.

The Scansonic M15.2, M20.2, and M30.2 will be available from authorised dealers worldwide starting in April 2025. Pricing will be M15.2 – €1,500 for the pair, M20.2 – €2,600 for the pair and M30.2 – €3,500 for the pair. Pricing not yet confirmed for other regions.
