British audio firm, Ruark has joined forces with renowned bespoke furniture designer and son of Lord Snowdon, David Linley.

There is no denying that the stunning ornate marquetry on the sides of the Ruark Tempo does make the DAB radio look rather special. However, underneath the tasteful wood design is the latest version of the R1 Bluetooth Radio.
So, you get DAB+, FM and Bluetooth alongside an OLED display, auxiliary input and headphone socket. There's also Ruark's natty RotoDial volume and source control on the top of the radio.

The wraparound Linley quad-veneer marquetry is available in Submarine, Monday, Norwegian and Beret colourways.
The Tempo should prove to be a great-sounding addition to the range as the R1 has impressed us before, especially given its compact dimensions and impressive sound.
Furthermore, we might get more Liney-dressed devices following the Tempo.
Ruark told StereoNET:
LINLEY X Ruark presents us with a unique collaboration showcasing both companies passion for design and quality, that will hopefully bring further desirable audio products in the future.
The goatskin-clad front panel and beautiful woodwork do come at a premium though. The Tempo has an asking price of £1,295 - a bit of a jump when compared with the understated R1 MK3, which costs £219.
