Rotel Returns to Interdyn for New Zealand Distribution

Rotel has re-appointed Interdyn Brands as its exclusive New Zealand distributor, rekindling a long-running partnership between two familiar names in the hi-fi world.

The move consolidates Rotel’s sales, marketing, and after-sales support under Interdyn’s established local infrastructure, providing New Zealand dealers with immediate access to the full product range — including the flagship Michi series and the new DX-3 and DX-5 models.
Sam Encel, Director of Interdyn Brands, told StereoNET:
Rotel has been part of our story for decades, and we’re thrilled to bring that experience back to New Zealand. Our team knows the products, understands the Rotel customer, and already has the infrastructure in place — sales, marketing, service and logistics — to go to market right away.

Interdyn’s reappointment formalises a partnership that many New Zealand retailers will remember from previous years, when the company — then operating as International Dynamics NZ — first introduced Rotel to the market. With its established logistics network and extensive brand portfolio, Interdyn is well-positioned to ensure both availability and continuity for Rotel’s local presence.
Encel added:
Dealers and listeners can expect competitive pricing, stock at the ready, and the kind of support that only comes from a long-standing relationship between brand and distributor.
While the announcement marks a renewed chapter, Rotel’s distribution history in New Zealand has previously been intertwined with other distributor networks. For some time, B&W Loudspeakers (NZ) Ltd, through its retail arm, Online Hi-Fi, represented several premium audio brands locally, including Rotel and Michi, helping to maintain the brands' presence in the market during previous distribution changes.
The latest development brings Rotel’s representation firmly back under Interdyn’s umbrella, unifying sales and service across both Australia and New Zealand — a structure the company says will benefit dealers and customers alike.

Interdyn confirmed that Rotel’s entire catalogue is available to New Zealand dealers effective immediately, supported by the distributor’s existing logistics and service network.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
