Reloop RP-7 Designed for Professional Singles & Homebased 45s

Reloop's RP-7 direct-drive turntable is designed for DJs spinning 45s, but can also play 33s and 78s when back home.

Reloop pitches its RP-7 as "a tribute to 45s culture" that "honours those who regard 7-inch vinyl as more than just a music medium."

As the first-ever professionally mass-produced DJ turntable for 7-inch vinyl, the RP-7 breaks new ground, allowing this passionate community to express themselves and inspire new generations, and proclaims that 45 is more than just a number.

We are told the Reloop RP-7 refuses to compromise on quality, combining the technical capabilities of its professional RP series siblings alongside exclusive features developed specifically for this model.

The newly developed DC motor promises high torque of 2.5 kg/cm, ensuring maximum precision and optimum performance, while minimising wow and flutter, delivering reliable cueing and support for advanced scratching techniques.

In addition, the precision-manufactured die-cast aluminium platter and innovative integrated switching power supply are said to significantly reduce interference.

The straight copper tonearm offers exceptional tracking accuracy, with internal rubber damping to minimise resonance. Its height-adjustable base is adapted from Reloop's best-selling RP-7000 MK2 and RP-8000 MK2 turntable models.

Furthermore, the statically balanced Reloop RP-7 system eliminates the need for anti-skating, simplifying installation and reducing potential margins for error.

In addition to 45 RPM, the Reloop RP-7 offers 33 1/3 and 78 RPM speeds. DJs will appreciate the adjustable tempo range of ±8 %, ±16 %, or ±35 % for beatmatching, as well as the reset button to instantly restore platter speed to zero.

As expected from a professional player, the Reloop RP-7 also delivers on connectivity. With a completely recessed connection terminal, it offers flush integration into a DJ setup with reliable protection for sensitive ports. Additionally, switchable phono/line outputs with gold-plated connectors mean you don't even have to rely on dedicated phono inputs.

The robust construction and sleek, deep black metallic finish complete the timeless design, while a detachable, freely rotatable aluminium LED light provides clear visibility for low-light cueing.

The Reloop RP-7 is available now with an SRP of €549 | US$599 | £499.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
