The Polk Monitor XT10 subwoofer offers a 10-inch "high-performance" alternative to the already-announced Monitor XT12 unit.

The Monitor XT10 (MXT10) features a 50W RMS (100W peak) Class D amplifier powering a 10-inch long-throw, high-excursion driver that promises "deep, effortless bass" all the way down to 24Hz.

Where the MXT12 sub is rear-ported, the MXT10 matches its critically braced cabinet with a down-firing port designed to minimise resonances and sonic interference. According to Polk Audio, this results in a defined, room-filling low end.

Furthermore, the company aims for the MXT10 to be plug-and-play thanks to its versatile line-level/LFE inputs that are compatible with most audio receivers. In addition, a consistently variable crossover, low-pass filter, polarity switch, and subwoofer volume control enables you to fine-tune bass response from subtle low-end enhancement or room-shaking rumble.

Naturally, the MXT10 has been designed to slot into the Monitor XT range of speakers and subwoofers, which are all timbre-matched for a cohesive sound signature. This allows you the freedom to mix and match components to create your dream audio system.
The Polk Monitor XT10 is available to buy now, priced at £279/ €329.
