Meze's 105 AER is the Romanian-based portable audio specialist's latest wired open-back headphones. It is touted as a versatile, detail-rich pair of headphones that suits all musical genres and is crafted using premium materials.

The 105 AER is armed with a 50mm dynamic driver on either side, the voicing of which has been refined with a slight emphasis on bass and sub-bass capabilities. Meze tells us that this provides "a more resonant foundation" as well as "adding a satisfying and full-bodied depth to your music."

Additionally, you get all the benefits of an open-back configuration that promotes a more open soundstage and a "spacious and immersive experience." Meze claims a frequency response of 5 Hz-30 kHz for the 105 AER alongside a 112 dB SPL at 1kHz, 1 mW sensitivity, and an impedance of 42 Ω.

Top-notch materials such as cast zinc alloy, stamped manganese spring steel, and PU leather for the adjustable headband and velour ear cushions culminate in the 105 AER promise of exceptional listening comfort.

Inspired by the rest of Meze's open-back range, such as its impressive 109 Pro, the 105 AER's ergonomic design makes it the company's lightest open-back model to date, at just 336 g.
Meze has designed the 105 AER to last "a lifetime and beyond." Like other Meze headphones, they can be taken apart and serviced, and individual parts and components can be replaced more easily when needed.

Paul Stet, Meze Audio's Senior Product Designer, told StereoNET:
105 AER carries a feeling of Art Deco opulence, almost like a piece of jewellery masked in a mechanical structure. Certain curves and surfaces are not obvious at first glance; there's an ambiguity to the three-dimensional shape, inviting you to discover it over time.

The Meze Audio 105 AER becomes available in early December, priced at £359/ €399
