METAXAS & SINS CONTINUES TO CHALLENGE HI-FI AND ART

Metaxas & Sins Introduces Us to More Disruptive Members of its Family.

Kostas is not only happy to introduce his latest creations but is also rightly pleased with last year's haul of winning all three design competitions that Metaxas & Sins entered. Now, a 100% win rate is not to be sniffed at.

So, let's meet the family.

Combobulator and Perambulator

Metaxas Perambulator and Combobulator

The Combobulator is the excellent name given to the Metaxas & Sins tonearm. Constructed from titanium, the arm features an organic, underswept counterweight which can not only accommodate a broader range of cartridge weights but decreases the moment of inertia of the arm by keeping the weight closer to the pivot point. The titanium pivots on sapphire jewel bearings and, finally, the open sculpted headshell boasts an in-built finger lift.

Naturally, the Combobulator needs a turntable. Moreover, it requires a Perambulator. The Metaxas take on the turntable features organic shapes hewn from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium. The undulating metal is not only beautiful to look at but also eliminates the usual reflections and refractions of resonances inherent in turntables constructed from pure geometric shapes. Spinning the lathe-turned aluminium and acrylic platter is an ultra-precision voltage regulated belt-drive system that features the most advanced Swiss Maxon motor.

Standulator

Now, bringing the Combobulator and Perambulator together is the Standulator. The new stand transforms the Perambulator into an extraordinary free-standing sculpture. The Motor and Plinth bolts directly to the stand, so the Perambulator is quite secure.

Grand Damme

Metaxas Grand Damme

Building on the beautiful SIREN's design of Accuton drivers embedded into spheres mounted onto an organic “time-aligned” sculpture, the Grande Damme extends the bottom end and gives an even bigger sound.

T-RX

Metaxas T-RX

We brought you news of the T-RX Tape recorder last year, and we're excited to hear that Metaxas is just finalising the Controller PCB as we type. So, hopefully, the first machines will start shipping end of April.

MASDAC

Metaxas MASDAC

There is no mistaking that the MASDAC is part of the family. There is definitely strong DNA throughout the Metaxas & Sins range but perhaps even more so in the Metaxas & Sins DAC. We say that because Kostas and his eldest son have been working on the MASDAC together and have finalised the DAC design. We are told that they are now working on the "system" which means streaming, as well as ROON/MQS compatibility and such.

Exciting times.
