MartinLogan's latest subwoofer lineup features the Dynamo Foundation, Dynamo and Abyss Series and, according to the brand, is poised to be a benchmark in compact bass performance, "offering a diverse array of advanced features and masterful artistry."

John Soden, Vice President of PML Sound International, told StereoNET:
Our newest subwoofers exemplify our commitment to innovation and excellence in audio engineering. With their design for seamless integration with any brand of speaker, they are a versatile choice that enhance any home audio system.
MARTINLOGAN DYNAMO FOUNDATION SUBWOOFERS
Engineered to combine advanced technology with sophisticated design, the MartinLogan Dynamo Foundation Subwoofers feature a high-resolution, 200MHz DSP engine with 56-bit processing alongside MartinLogan's exclusive Magnitude 400 or 700 amplifiers (depending on model).

These amplifiers deliver up to 400W and 700W peak power, respectively, via either a custom-designed 10- or 12-inch Ultra-Rigid Polypropylene (URP) woofer.

They have a compact, grille-less, down-firing design with an LFE input for easy home theatre setup and stereo RCA inputs for compatibility with various audio equipment. The WSK-1 Wireless Subwoofer Kit (sold separately) allows for hassle-free wireless installation.
MARTINLOGAN DYNAMO SUBWOOFERS
MartinLogan proudly states that the new Dynamo Subwoofers echo one of its most popular products, the original Dynamo subwoofer. They promise to complement any speaker system while perfectly aligning with MartinLogan's thin-film technologies.

This line features high-output, high-precision 10- or 12-inch aluminium Woofers in a compact design. They are amplified with MartinLogan's proprietary Magnitude 1kW amp in the Dynamo 10, delivering up to 1000W Peak (500W RMS), and the Magnitude 1.6kW in the Dynamo 12, producing 1600W Peak (800W RMS).

The Dynamo subs also feature a 500MHz DSP engine with 64-bit processing, a sealed, 1-inch thick medium-density fibreboard (MDF) cabinet with additional MDF reinforcement on the woofer baffle, and integrated anti-vibration feet.

Intuitive control is offered via MartinLogan's subwoofer Control app, and a built-in wireless receiver and transmitter. Meanwhile, wired connections include RCA and XLR LFE inputs, stereo RCA inputs, speaker level inputs, and sub-out connections. Simultaneous connections are also supported. Additionally, the new Dynamo subs are compatible with the Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system.
MARTINLOGAN ABYSS SUBWOOFERS
Finally, MartinLogan's Abyss subwoofers represent a new generation designed for compact bass performance.

Nearly two decades ago, MartinLogan introduced the Abyss, a larger and more powerful successor to the original Dynamo subwoofer. However, this new ultra-compact design features an 8- or 10-inch hybrid woofer system that combines an active aluminium woofer with two aluminium passive radiators. We are told that this design enhances output and reduces distortion akin to ported designs yet preserves the compact size and tighter bass associated with sealed enclosures.
The Abyss 8 features the Magnitude 1kW amplifier with up to 1000W Peak (500W RMS), while the Abyss 10 has the Magnitude 1.6kW amplifier, delivering 1600W Peak (800W RMS) of bass.

As with the Dynamo, Abyss is equipped with a 500MHz DSP with 64-bit processing. It has a sealed, 1-inch-thick MDF cabinet with a centre brace, reinforced woofer baffles, and integrated anti-vibration feet. Abyss also shares the same range of connectivity, including the iOS and Android control app and Anthem Room Correction (ARC) support.
