Linn Records Music Downloads Stop In Favour of Qobuz Partnership

After pioneering high-resolution digital music with its own download website, LinnRecords.com will close this month. Qobuz has been chosen as the first platform to host its complete hi-res collection to ensure its high-quality catalogue remains available.
The aim of LinnRecords.com when it was conceived in 2007 was to make high-resolution Studio Master downloads available to as many people as possible. This bold move showed that high-resolution downloads were feasible and that consumers had an appetite for audio excellence. In 2025, high-res music is widely available to download and stream, and we're told that Linn Records is happy to have played its part.
As the first platform to offer both streaming and downloads in high resolution, and because it is already fully integrated with Linn's high-performance Network Music Players such as the excellent Selekt DSM Edition Hub, Qobuz has been chosen as Linn Records' trusted partner for this closure, effective February 28th, 2025.
Qobuz was actually launched in the same year as LinnRecords.com and shares the vision of providing an exceptional listening experience that honours both artists and audiophiles alike.
Not only does Qobuz cater to highly demanding music lovers, but its curated approach to music and its deep focus on top-tier artists and albums—from iconic works to cutting-edge contemporary releases— make it the ideal partner for this new chapter, according to Linn Records.
Qobuz is the first platform to offer the complete Linn Records catalogue of over 400 albums in high resolution (24-bit/up to 192 kHz), including iconic classical recordings by Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Phantasm, KUNIKO, Dunedin Consort and Ingrid Fliter, and more recent signings such as the Maxwell Quartet, Kebyart, Ariel Lanyi, Maxim Emelyanychev and Samson Tsoy. New releases are available beginning today.
