The Berlin‑based platform — long known for its purist approach towards high‑resolution audio — says the app will soon be available to all its subscribers via the Apple App Store.

Founded in 2010, HIGHRESAUDIO has built its catalogue through deals with major labels, indie imprints and global aggregators. The new app folds the entire service into a clean, modern interface designed for quick navigation and serious sound quality.
Lothar Kerestedjian, Managing Director of HIGHRESAUDIO, told StereoNET:
At last, our existing and new customers can stream music from their subscription in high resolution via UPnP/DLNA in 24-bit or lossless via AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth to any device.
The new Apple-friendly app opens the door to HIGHRESAUDIO’s full archive from anywhere, backed by curated editorial picks by experienced music journalists.
Additionally, we’re told that playlists are refreshed regularly, while PDF digital booklets are included, and a persistent cache keeps things snappy.

Wireless streaming is well supported via AirPlay 2, DLNA/UPnP, and Bluetooth, meaning the app will work with just about any modern system.
Meanwhile, collectors will enjoy the built‑in HRA‑VirtualVault, which enables them to stream all previously purchased downloads — even without a subscription.
Genre‑Mode: Tailored Listening
A personal profile system lets listeners shape the service around their tastes. During signup, users can set gender, age, favourite artists, genres and moods. Flip the Genre‑Mode filter on, and the app reshapes its recommendations and playlists accordingly. It can be tweaked or disabled at any time.
No DSP Tricks, No Downsampling
HIGHRESAUDIO stresses that it doesn’t normalise, re‑encode or apply filters to even out volume across tracks. Every stream arrives with full, untouched dynamics. There’s no adaptive streaming either — everything is delivered at native resolution via the Akamai Cloud, which the company calls the “most expensive but best” option for preserving fidelity.

Subscription Options
A seven‑day free trial is available, followed by:
- €79 / £69 for six months
- €149 / £129 for twelve months
- €199 / £169 for the Streaming + Downloads tier, which includes a permanent 30% discount on all purchased downloads — ideal for anyone building a long‑term library or running a music server.
The service is available in Europe (elsewhere, a VPN is required) and is also integrated into a wide range of hi‑fi manufacturers’ ecosystems. You can find an updated list here.
The iOS app is scheduled to be available in the Apple App Store at the start of June.
