Founded by Joseph Grado, the inventor of the stereo moving coil phono cartridge, Grado are perhaps more famously known today for their hand-assembled headphones that are enjoyed in just about every corner of the globe.

To stand the test of time a company needs to have strong foundations, particularly when faced with the challenges in modern business. Grado rode out the GFC, and continue to evolve their business and products to remain relevant in a fast paced market.

For 2014, Grado have introduced their third generation of headphones, dubbed the "e Series". According to George Poutakidis, Director of Busisoft and Australian distributors for Grado Labs, "With this series, the company revisited every single component, surface, and material used in its headphones, and each has been optimised and upgraded for one purpose: Unparalleled dynamics and fidelity".

Grado e Series

Retaining the classic design that draws upon industrial and organic inspiration, Grado's style is now iconic, and design refinements within the e Series housing prevents stray resonance from interacting with the driver. According to Grado, the magnetic motor structure has also been fine-tuned for field symmetry througout the full range of the voice coil. These improvements of course ensure the best possible sound from Grado headphones.

“The e Series headphone represents our greatest sound to date.” John Grado, CEO and President told StereoNET.

He continued, “I’ve been listening to the e Series for a couple of months now, and it’s as if a curtain has been pulled away from my favorite tracks. The sound is so clear it’s hard for me to enjoy music on anything else.”

The e Series Grado headphone range is available in Australia and New Zealand now via selected retailers.
