Wrapped in Goldmund's iconic grey aluminium finish, Melos Passive is equipped with a high-end 1-inch soft dome tweeter paired with a 7-inch mid/bass unit in a front vent-loaded cabinet. We are told that the drivers reproduce sound with "extreme precision, offering extended frequency response and exceptional dynamic range". The Melos Passive's frequency range islisted as 43Hz (-6 dB) to >25kHz, and the speakers have a 6 ohms nominal impedance.

The name Melos is apparently an homage to the melodies of ancient Greece, which Goldmund hopes captures the essence of this speaker's capability – to deliver musical harmony and tune with unparalleled precision.

Goldmund tells us that the drivers are at the end of "advanced crossover technology", ensuring seamless frequency integration and optimum dispersion, and we can expect "a truly immersive and realistic soundstage".

Naturally, as with all of Goldmund's products, we can expect exquisite fit and finish. Goldmund states that the Melos Passive embraces the legacy of its larger recently announced sibling, Tethys, while drawing inspiration from £500,000+ flagship Gaïa, seamlessly fusing advanced technology with timeless aesthetics.

Measuring 35 x 25 x 36.2 cm (HxWxD) and weighing 20 kg per unit, the sleek, monolithic cube of the Melos Passive promises to be engineered with utmost precision.
