Expanding on the DMP-A6 Music Streamer’s concept of an all-in-one box, the DMP-A8 packs plenty into a single box: a music streamer, digital audio player, DAC and pre-amplifier. EverSolo has moved away from ESS chips, opting instead for two AKM DACs, the AK4499EX and AK4191EQ in a Digital/Analog Separation DAC solution under AKM’s Velvet Sound | Verita series.

The DMP-A8 also features dual Femto clocks, the same ones seen in the DMP-A6 Master Edition model, along with dual power supplies - a dedicated linear power supply for the analogue circuit and a low-noise high-performance digital power supply for the digital board.
The linear power supply uses a multi-winding toroidal transformer that’s designed to match the characteristics of analogue audio circuits, with a patented smart switching technology for the power supply’s voltage input, ensuring worldwide voltage compatibility without having to flip switches.

Encased in a CNC machined aluminium chassis, the DMP-A8 also comes with a large 6-inch LCD touchscreen display for controlling music playback, system settings and more.

Additionally, that large colour display is home to the personalised dynamic VU meters and spectrums, allowing for a gorgeous interactive experience offered with real-time full-format music display, including DSD files.

There are also added I/O ports, with the DMP-A8 sporting two TOSLINK optical in, an ARC port, two coaxial RCA inputs, a new HDMI I2S port and new RCA and XLR analogue inputs alongside the existing analogue outputs for using the DMP-A8 as a dedicated pre-amplifier. For wireless connectivity, there’s also support for Bluetooth 5.0 and the aptX HD codec.

For the new analogue inputs, EverSolo has equipped the DMP-A8 with a fully balanced analogue pre-amplifer circuit that has a +10dB analogue gain and ensures ultra-low noise and distortion when paired with the new fully balanced R2R analogue volume control circuit.
Just like the DMP-A6, there’s space to install an M.2 NVME SSD, with the DMP-A8 supporting up to 4TB so the device can be used as a self-contained media server. There’s also the option of connecting storage devices through the USB OTG port.

Powered by a 3rd generation XMOS 316 audio processor, the DMP-A8 can support up to native DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM over the USB ports, with the optical and coaxial ports supporting up to native DSD64 (DoP) and 24-bit/192kHz PCM. There’s also a full MQA decoder, and other formats like FLAC and WAV are supported.

Music streaming services like Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Apple Music and Amazon Music are able to be installed directly, and the DMP-A8 uses EverSolo’s self-developed EverSolo Original Sampling-rate (EOS) audio engine, which outputs at the audio’s original sampling rate, bypassing Android’s SRC limitation to support direct audio passthrough in third-party apps.
The EverSolo DMP-A8 is now available and is priced at £1,890 / €1,980.
