Melomania 1+ is the successor to Cambridge Audio's popular Melomania 1 earphones. The new true wireless buds feature app control, customisable EQ settings and the company's innovative High Performance Audio Mode.

Cambridge Audio has stuck to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule as the Melomania 1+ looks to have hardly changed since the British brand's rather good first attempt. However, looking more closely, you will spot that the charging case now boasts a fast-charging USB-C port for when you run down the 9 hours of battery life in the buds and 45 hours total playing stamina.
As well as getting more memory foam ear tips into the bundle, the main event for the Melomania 1+ is the new Melomania iOS and Android app. Here you can customise the EQ settings, check the battery level of each earbud, locate your elusive earphones on a map as well as receive firmware updates.

Furthermore, the app also hands the Melomania 1+ earphones Cambridge Audio's High Performance Audio Mode tech, which apparently uses the very same hi-fi grade amplification found in the company's renowned CX range of stereo amplifiers, a feature introduced for the Melomania Touch in-ears.

The rest is business as usual for each of the 4.6g buds. They're still IPX5 rated, and so impervious to rain and sweat, and deliver music via 5.8mm graphene-enhanced drivers. Additionally, the true wireless design features Bluetooth 5.0 technology and supports AAC and aptX codecs.
The Cambridge Audio Melomania 1+ comes in black or a new white finish and available now for £119.95/ €129.95.
