TWS earbuds are a dime a dozen these days, and they can be excellent in terms of convenience and not having any wires. Still, if you’re out for a run or don’t trust yourself not to lose one of those tiny earbuds, a good compromise could be a neckband design, and that’s where the Blue BYRD ANC comes in.

With Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, the Blue BYRD ANC offers support for the aptX Adaptive, aptX codecs, SBC and AAC codecs, and Bluetooth Multipoint to connect to different devices like a laptop and phone simultaneously. And at just 33 grams, it won’t feel too heavy whether the earbuds are in your ears or dangling around your neck.

The Blue BYRD ANC also offers an important feature, as evidenced in the name, in the form of Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode, so you can block out noise from commutes or traffic while also having the option to hold conversations without having to remove the earbuds from your ears. There’s an in-line remote control for controlling playback, which also houses a microphone with Qualcomm’s CVC technology for background noise suppression and clearer calls.

With an IPX4 water resistance rating, there’s no problem wearing these out in a light drizzle or for sweaty workout sessions, either. There’s also up to 14 hours of battery life in these, which is excellent, and a 10-minute charge through the USB-C charging port gives two hours of playback time.

Paired with the Beyerdynamic MIY app, the Blue BYRD ANC will support the company’s MOSAYC feature, which administers a quick hearing test to personalise the sound profile of the headphones to the wearer’s individual hearing.

The Beyerdynamic Blue BYRD ANC is available now and sells for $149 USD.
