Bang & Olufsen's stylish Beosound wireless premium audio range sees updates bringing its Beosound A9 to its fifth generation and Beosound 2 to its third. These will offer new colours, features, an updated design, and a future-proofing module, ensuring the speakers' longevity with new technologies.

The major update featuring across both models is the addition of Bang & Olufsen's Mozart software platform. This is said to future-proof current models and products so they can be updated or revised to keep up with changes or innovations in platforms and software.

Central to this is a replaceable module that B&O claims can receive software updates and features "for many years to come". Should the connectivity or streaming platform become obsolete or outdated, the module can be replaced when necessary. This design should allow the speakers to integrate into any multi-room system well into the future.

The classic oval A9 speaker is now offered in three new standard finishes: Black Anthracite, Gold Tone and Natural Aluminum. The back covers of the new standard finishes complement the front covers, as do the oak legs. In addition, an improved interface in the new model allows you to change volume by sliding a hand across the surface, while a simple tap controls track skipping, playing and pausing.

The iconic conical-shaped Beosound 2 still boasts "360-degree sound" and adds a new Black Anthracite finish to join the already available shades of Gold Tone and Natural. There's also an upgraded, easy-to-use interface and Active Room Compensation. B&O says the latter enables Beosound 2 to detect its position in a room and adjust its sound accordingly to provide an optimised listening experience.

The Beosound A9 (fifth generation) is available from March, starting at £2,899/ €3,299. The Beosound 2 (third generation) will be available from April, costing from £2,649/ €2,999.
