AU SHOW: National AV Solutions to Debut Barco Heimdall+ & MadVR Envy CORE

National AV Solutions (NAVS) is bringing two big premieres to Room M8 at the 2025 Melbourne Hi-Fi & AV Show, with Barco’s Heimdall Plus projector and the new MadVR Envy CORE video processor making their Australian debut.

These will be among the first demonstrations of both products outside CEDIA in the US and ISE in Europe, giving Show visitors a rare chance to experience Barco’s latest laser projection technology paired with MadVR’s newest high-end processor. As NAVS director Claver Harper told StereoNET:
The new Heimdall range of projectors from Barco Residential will be one of the most significant launches of high-end home cinema projectors in 2025.

The Heimdall+ is being billed as one of the most advanced video projectors ever aimed at the residential market. It offers native DCI 4K resolution, driven by an RGB laser light source, and supports Cinemascope playback at 6K resolution. Barco has also equipped it with HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3 compliance, a wide REC.2020 colour gamut, and the ability to process 12-bit 4:4:4 colour at 120 Hz in native 4K. Together, these specifications place the Heimdall at the cutting edge of projection technology for high-end home theatres.

Partnering the projector will be the MadVR Envy CORE, positioned as the most affordable way into MadVR’s video processing ecosystem. Despite its lower entry price, the CORE retains the brand’s signature toolset: industry-leading dynamic tone mapping, advanced aspect ratio control, non-linear stretch, upscaling, and a new dynamic subtitle management system. It represents a streamlined but powerful solution for extracting maximum performance from today’s UHD and HDR sources for integrators and cinema designers.

To present these technologies in context, NAVS will demonstrate a 5.2.2-channel Wisdom Audio system featuring the new P9 LCRs, P2m surrounds and Atmos speakers, and the S10p 10-inch 500 W active subwoofers. All are powered by an eight-channel amplifier delivering 3,200 W of total output. A 133-inch Cinemascope acoustically transparent woven screen from Screen Innovations will complete the front end, with processing support from Storm Audio.

NAVS’s Room M8 will be a highlight for Showgoers wanting to experience Barco’s latest laser projection technology paired with MadVR’s new entry-level processor — a compelling combination for anyone serious about high-end video.
The StereoNET Hi-Fi & AV Show takes place August 29-31 at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. Full show details and tickets are available via the link below.
