This DIY 6V6 single-end, ultra-linear valve power amp was originally designed from the ground up by an electronics engineer in Seattle who has a passion for valve amps. The amp is based around all Australian made Mini-watt valves which lived under a house for over forty years. The base is varnished Merboo and top and bottom plates thick gauge Al. Paint is gloss black epoxy enamel. I wanted the sound of an early 6V6 amp so solder from the 60s with copper in it was used plus all carbon film resistors. Tag boards hold the parts and all wiring is point-2-point. Russian PIO caps are used in the inter-stage. Power transformer is mounted on rubber grommets to control vibration.

Three heavy solid brass cone feet secure the amp. The power transformer is Hammond and OPTs Edcors sprayed black. Tube compliment; Black glass 6V6, 6SN7 and 5U4GB. The power supply is split from the first Russian PIO cap into two Hammond chokes and 2 X 100uf filter caps. Power filtering is two stage. The dual power supply split is maintained throughout the whole amp. There is a RFI\EMI power filter and ferrite cord choke. Power is 2.6W RMS.

Item: Black Lace tube power amp
Location: Langwarrin
Price: $790
Item Condition: As new - 10\10
Reason for selling: Too many amps and more on the way
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: Acoustic instruments really shine with this amp and voice is exceptional. Speakers of about 90db efficiency will produce good volume depending on music type. I have used this amp with speakers of 87db efficiency with good results.

You Sir are a man after my own heart, if you'll pardon the cliche.

Cheers and GLWTS

Thanks mate. This really is a very nice little amp. It's just a slice of Oz history in an audible package.

I love this. :)

I guess I didn't mention the solid brass gold plated speaker binding posts, gold plated RCAs and the chromed domed nuts holding down the power tranni on copper and brass washers suspended on split rubber grommets. Or the fused and earthed top plate.

Guess I just did. A lodda heart in this one. The lace cover has clear and emerald real glass beads and fine black bows on black lace. Plus black rosettes. The varnish used on the base is over 20 years old just to keep it all old school. Cover included.

Also include is a full set of replacement valves. No extra cost. All strictly old school.

Mark is the best, no doubt :thumb: , waiting on delivery for his second custom phono pre amp, this one is a "valve" amp, looking forward to trying it out.  It's not an update, just another classic for the collection hand crafted in Australia, piece from the Master.

Usually I would say checks in the mail.

Yes, you usually do :D

OK seeing I'm big noting tell me how long you need an inter-connect from the tube phono preamp to your preamp or power amp. I will make you a very special inter-connect specifically designed for this phono preamp.

Tell me how long it needs to be. I'll include it with the tube phono preamp. Try it. If you don't like it - bin it.

You will laugh when you see it and think I'm not serious. Then you'll try it.

Only from La Gitana to preamp or power amp.

I'll quote myself. No (or extremely little) cable capacitance. Maybe a few pf! Edited by mwhouston

Hi Mark, that is a nice gesture, the valve pre amp will sit on top of the miniDSP2x8 (same size case) so the cable only needs to be around 220mm long.

GLWS of your lovely little valve amp
