drpat Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 HI all...have been looking at all the usual suspects on line Hi Fi racks, Quadraspire, Atacama and Solid Tech. Solid Tech seem real serious but the ' rack of silence' cross members look a little delicate. I'm wondering about the cheaper Radius model and putting vibration control cones etc under the units on the mdf shelves. and maybe'feet of silenc'e under the whole rack. The new ' Hybrid' model with the aluminium bridge supports at each corner looks like it would be brilliant or awful (if it tranfers vibration to 4 point on the shelves) The SGR racks look good but are now 1000 dollars a shelf . I thought buying australian gear was going to be cheaper! any advice on these or other models appreciated
analog brother Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 buy the best that you can afford. racks and stands remain with you forever, no matter how many component or home upgrades you will go through. if you like the sgr, then it's definitely worth the stretch in the long run.
amdan Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I have the Atacama Equinox with MDF and maple shelves. Works very well. Rigidity of the Atacama frame without the hard sound of the glass shelves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cafe67 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I had the extrema af14 racks, build quality was very good for the price
