Marantz TT15S1, Bluesound Node N130, Marantz SA14S1 SE, Luxman L590ax-ii, swim's Tannoy DC-10T with some moderately blingy bits of cable n wotnot. I'll happily admit I'd be more than happy to very happily die happy with this set up. It's LUSHHHHHHHH.

There is something wonderfully mesmerising about backlit VU meters in a dark room.

I'm very glad you're enjoying the Tannoys. Since you brought your Luxman to mine to test drive them, I knew you were going to fall in love with them. The amp speaker combo is a very agreeable match.

Sublimely agreeable. I'm completely smitten. Much as I loved the Zu DWs, the Tannoys do this amp justice in a way they were never going to - not a fault, just a price point thing. These present such an accurately defined, detailed and holographic soundstage that the speakers simply disappear, which is immensely satisfying. It's something I've longed to replicate ever since demoing my old Marantz KI Ruby through a beautiful (and unaffordable) pair of Pro-ac towers in Clef Hifi's treated listening room. Instruments and vocals levitate as if by some wicked sorcery between, around and behind the towers against a seductively dark backdrop - warm, smooth, controlled, effortless and I'll say again, lush. It's just magic.
