4 Way loudspeaker Home Built

Featured Replies

Further Information: So the story is twenty five years ago I had some money for a system, I bought a CD player and an ME amp, I then went off to audition speakers with a budget of 10k. I listened to most of the big names but didn't hear what i wanted, all had one and some two problem areas. So I decided to have a go at building my own. Well I built the Mark one, then the Mark two, and the Mark three and they had the same problems as the big names ha ha. But over the years of fiddling I did learn a lot and the Mark four produces the sound I was after. The units here are the Mark Two but with the crossover revamped after I had finished the Fours and has made them quite listenable with a well balanced dynamic sound. The drivers are from Response, not expensive but good units and a Vifa alu tweeter, chokes are hand wound with 1.2 mm wire and there are L pads on 50mm dome and tweeter for matching. Cabinets are 25mm MDF with a very retro woodgrain laminex cover. The feet are made from 1 inch steel angle. Maybe someone is willing to take them on..:)

1 inch tweeter

50mm dome

6 inch mid

10 inch woofer

I willing to deliver up to a two hour drive.

Anyone brave enough to take them on? Make me an offer. They'll match anything five times the price.

Which ones are they?

The speakers with the Response drivers or the ones with Dynaudio/Ribbons?

Crikey mate it’s not as clear to the mere reader as it is in your mind.
