075Congo Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 Bought the set of Rosson Audio Rad-O Headphones (Etons Mess) recently and decided to look for a Headphone Amp instead of using my Integrated Amp. Contacted Rosson Audio re recommendations and they came back with 3 including the Benchmark that changed hands recently. They mentioned Rupert Neve Products as well and the basic Rupert Neve Headphone Amp as good value for money. Read all sorts of reviews. Bought one from Sound Easy and a new pair of RCAs from Aurealis Audio (Dragon R1). From the get go the Rupert Neve won hands down over my Copland CSA 150 Integrated. For roughly $850 (only one left) the Rad-O's are really singing and I am a happy man. As an intro to Headphone Amps I think I lucked out..........the Benchmark is still lurking out there but my marriage would not tolerate it......been to the "well" too often. Cheers
PassionForSound Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 That's great that you're enjoying the RN amp, Mick! The HPA4 is still with me and no inquiries as yet so you never know...
075Congo Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 That Benchmark was recommendation Number 1 by Rosson Audio over some others you have probably reviewed. It can operate as a Pre-amp too ? Good luck with selling it. Mick
PassionForSound Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Yes, HP amp and pre-amp. Very impressive option that sits right alongside the Sparkos Labs Aries and Burson Soloist GT as one of the three best headphone amps I've tried so far
075Congo Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 The Sparkos was one of the others Rosson Audio recommended. Too rich for my blood!
075Congo Posted February 11, 2023 Author Posted February 11, 2023 Currently selling the Rupert Neve Headphone amp $375 includes postage. My Copland Headphone Amp is more than adequate for my current Focal Clear Pro's. Cheers
