  1. Geez I’d love this… but just bought another Dac that I believe Gordon had tinkered with… plus another TDA1540 based Dac… don’t know if it’s possible but if a brilliant possibility presents itself who knows… you say it’s Bluetooth ready?
  2. @MattyW Thanks for passing it on to me. I’m really looking forward to hearing it. I’ll post my reflections for sure 😄
  3. Just started Precision I believe. Also have standard non precision 505 and the precision is definitely a leap above. I was aware of the full Monty for A300r precision amp but wasn’t aware there was also full Monty CD player. Have you heard one?
  4. Love mine. Tempted for a second but I’ll hold fast for now hahaha
  5. Further information: Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 DAC in very good visual condition with just a few light marks not visible from the front. All functions work perfectly. Thanks to a Wolfson 24-bit DAC, a 24-bit/96kHz driverless USB Audio 1.0 input and 2 x S/PDIF and 1 x TosLink digital inputs, the DacMagic 100 takes the sound from your computer, iPod, TV, CD player, DVD Player and other digital devices and adds detail, depth and added clarity to give you a true audio experience. From WHAT HIFI review below: “Fed a 16-bit/44.1kHz rip of Dusty Springfield’s Son Of A Preacher Man, the DacMagic 100 serves up an open, spacious sound. Vocals are given space to breathe and, even with a mix of instruments thrown in, everything knits together well. Move on to Emeli Sandé’s Heaven and the Cambridge paints a tonally even picture with well-mannered treble and weighty, precise low frequencies.” Pics of actual DAC taken last night as well as thoroughly tested. Ive got two Cambridge DACs and I love them but can’t justify keeping both. Pick up from Frankston South preferred or postage paid by purchaser at agreed cost Photos:
  6. Love mine. Fantastic unit for fantastic price. Someone got a bargain
  7. Hey friends, Can anyone recommend a tech close to Melbourne/Mornington Peninsula in Vic who could possibly be up for some or all of the below repairs or mods? I've collected a few early Philips and Marantz CD Players, all with TDA1540 DAC aside from one using TDA1541, the Marantz CD75II. Most could use at least a general service, some are only partially working and need repair. I'd like all to be working at their peak, so I'd take advice on recapping where needed too. The Marantz CD75II I'm considering mods, and also considering NOS and/or other mods with the others. See below for basics on the units. Marantz CD44-Tray a bit lazy, faint and thin signal from one side (could just need a re-solder). Marantz CD54-OK but takes sometimes 15 mins to read first CD of the session, then reads quickly. Looks like it's had some mods? Marantz CD84-Needs a good internal clean and spruce up. It works but seems to distort at higher vols. The display takes a long time to light up. Marantz CD75II-Works great but considering adding extra dac and tube buffer Philips CD303-had crackly volume when first started and now its basically just distortion with some faint music signal in the background. Thanks for considering, Rockrolley
  8. Love how you’re keeping this alive 😄👍🏻
  9. I have an Arcam blackbox that uses TDA1541. Love it. I’d be greedy to get another but curious all the same… I’m really keen for a quality unit with TDA1540
