nosenuggetz Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Rare three-way acoustics from an English company that's no longer around. Bought new ~2007. Beech colour A 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter is responsible for the high frequencies Kevlar drivers of 130 and 165 mm, respectively, are responsible for the medium and low frequencies. The large bass compartment minimizes cabinet resonances. The diffuser is located at the back in the middle, therefore, it is advisable not to place the acoustics close to the wall, a distance of 30-50 cm is preferable. The speakers reproduce frequencies from 35Hz to 22kHz, impedance - 6 ohms, sensitivity - 90 dB, recommended power - ~90 watts. Weighing 17kg each but there's a sand loading compartment at the bottom. I've sand loaded them with oven dried sand. So they're much heavier now than standard. Floor spikes included in the case design 1000x240x290mm I love these things and they've blown away plenty of guests with the non-fatiguing smooth but detailed presence. The mids are lovely. The bass is deep and tight. I've recently upgraded to B&W CM10 S2's and while they're in a different class in terms of image and detail, they just don't sound as warm and they lack bass response at lower levels compared to these Heybrooks. Fantastic for all types of music in my experience. Prefer local pickup as they're heavy and I don't have the boxes. Sad to see them go. Near mint condition. Minor marks on top right of one cabinet as shown in pictures. 1

Hopefully they find a good home. They'd be great for someone starting out on their HIFI journey. It's interesting that the terminals are mounted so high up so the path to the crossover/drivers is pretty short. I've not seen that before.
Raffie Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Hi, I’m in TAS - Kingston Beach, can we arrange a quick audition just to see if my ears like it?
