onthebeach Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 My Astell & Kern SP1000 DAP is not finding/recognizing/pairing with my newly purchased Sony WF-1000XM4 Bluetooth earbuds. It is recognizing other devices but just not the headphones. This is the first time I have attempted to pair Bluetooth headphones with my SP1000. I have: 1. refreshed SP1000 Bluetooth screen multiple times, 2. turned SP1000 off and on multiple times, 3. ensured headphones are on, 4. disconnected Sony earbuds from my Samsung phone (which perfectly pairs with the Sony earbuds) The SP1000 finds/recognizes my LG smart TV & a smart monitor at work as well as my Samsung phone. It also picks up signals from other unknown things & comes up with a list of Bluetooth numbers. I cant activate or pair with any of these numbers though. The SP1000 also does not seem to find/recognize other family members pairs of Bose QC earbuds or Bose QC35 headphones either. The SP1000 firmware is up to date. So my SP1000 seems to be finding pretty much ALL other Bluetooth signals EXCEPT for headphones. Strange. I'm guessing its got something to do with Bluetooth protocols but seems weird that the only things I'm interested in getting the DAP to recognize are the only things that are not being recognized. Anyway...not sure if anyone else has had any similar issues or whether there is a solution. I've emailed A&K but no reply .
Dolphy Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I reckon the BT chip in AK daps are useless. I gave up trying to pair mine a while ago. 1
gorgf Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Dolphy is right , I have. two A&K DAP with the same problem, Good thing the SQ is very good ! I get round it by using a short 3.5mm extention cable to a battery powered Taotronics BT transmitter, very small and no trouble . The Tao will be superior to the internal AK BT even if it worked , Tao can also take optical input. and can transmit or recieve I think Fiio have something similar. 1
