Bunyip Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) Further information: This is a very lovely, sweet sounding cartridge perfect for someone wanting to move up from the Ortofon Red or similar, with very low hours on it. It was purchased a while back to run on my Linn Axis when I moved my Ortofon Black to a new Clearaudio Performance. That new deck was sold, and so the Black is back on the Linn and this is no longer required. All Goldring 2000 series cartridges feature Moving Iron technology, which lends them the high levels of detail associated with more expensive moving coil designs whilst retaining the convenience of a replaceable stylus and high output associated with moving magnet types. It also has integrated threaded mounting holes which means it's very easy to mount onto the tonearm. No need for fiddly washers or nuts which need to be counter-held during adjustment. It reviews well, for example: https://www.avforums.com/threads/goldring-2200-cartridge.2349626/ It's been stored in its rather schmick box and was last used in 2017, As my hours counter shows in the images below. FYI, that number indicates album sides, not hours, so hours are a lot lower (just tried to do the math in my head and my feeble brain came up with a preposterous number - so I’ll leave it to you to work it out!). It also shows that it didn't get much of a workout - I've pretty much run it in for you! Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Bunyip. Photos: Edited February 27, 2022 by Bunyip 3
a.dent Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Hi @Bunyip I'm intrigued by your stylus timer. Is it an app? If so what is it called? Thanks Andrew

Thanks Andrew Expand It’s called Counter. I got it years ago and I think it was created by just one guy, so not sure if it’s still in the App Store. 1
