I’ve had a passing interest in Atmos after marc’s rave review

I m upgrading my phone and found that later iPhones have atmos.

I was further surprised to read online that you don’t need special headphones ( can this be right? ) well I have Sennheisers .
looking forward to getting new phone and trying it

Any opinions?

Apparently, in the settings for Apple Music if you toggle the switch to “always on” you will get spatial audio on any headphone.  “Automatic” setting will only apply Atmos  to Apple  and Beats etc headphones as indicated in the settings.

iPhone or iPod = Settings > Music > Audio > Atmos

I’ve not tried it myself as I use software for crossover and equalisation for my headphones.

Atmos has been available on Samsung phones for some time. I have an old Galaxy Note 8 (2017) that has settings for Atmos.

Cheers

So it seems that it’s only available in Apple Music

I use Spotify though and haven’t been able to find Atmos in the phones settings

actually when buying my new phone I looked at the list of devices on the Dolby Atmos site and chose an SE 2020

Still no sign of Atmos so back to Google and it turns out that Apple has been busy removing Atmos from many devices ( perhaps those older than 12 months)

there you go, Apple’s famous built in obsolescence…..

Hmmm, don’t have that Atmos option on my iPhone 13 Pro. Maybe you have to use Apple Music for it to show. I only have mobile data options and EQ; none of which are Atmos 🤷🏻‍♂️

Duh - just saw the above post. 🤪
