sypderman2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Hi, I install 2 ADX on a 2 seaters. Use miniDSP to cross at 32Hz with 48dB/octave BW filter after weeks of optimizing. The best I discover to is blend in as a natural extension of deep bass but you must have a capable sub with high SPL at low bass first. Then it will feel natural. Just my 2 cents worth
stephensim Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Hi all, I recently found out that my amp to power up the bass shakers is dead. Thought of getting it repaired and realised that I have a Velodyne sub lying around so used it to test. Can I check with you guys is there anything wrong with my connection? I have tried both RCA inputs for L and R and various combinations from the speaker out to the shakers but still in vain. The sub is shaking but the bass shakers aren't. No power tripped recently so kind of surprised to find out that both the amp and shakers have "kaput" at the same time... Any kind bros willing to let me bring over my shakers to test that if they are dead? Thanks in advance... This is the pic of the amp that is dead. Unable to power up even though I have tried to change the fuse.
wizardofoz Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 The velodyne speaker connections are high level inputs...not outputs. the in and the outs are connected together so you can drive it with speakers output of an avr if no Sub out...its a pass thru
Hillviewer Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Hi Yes any bros installed bass shaker to a 2 or 3 seater recliner sofa? Do u need a shaker for each seat within the sofa or just mount to the sofa frame?
wizardofoz Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 one thing to consider with a split design like recliner where the base and back are not well connected is that some loss of effect through the connection would result in less punch in the other area...ie shaker on the bum with little or less back thump or vice versa. So you might need to consider a dual shaker for each seat - one in the bum and one in the back.
Hillviewer Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 then I would need 6 or create a "Gold" class center seat lol. I found an alternative that move the entire sofa vertically. http://www.crowsontech.com/go/crowsontech/3472/en-US/DesktopDefault.aspx search xtremeplace a few bros are using.

I think for optimum effect, the shakers should be mounted flat for vertical shaking. Something like in the following pic: Quote Set up for my 4 ADX ;D ;D Thanks for all the pics bros. I am now ordering the plywood for to mount the shakers before my shakers come! :) Would a thicker or thinner plywood be better to transmit the vibrations? Any recommended thickness? Super excited!
