schnauzerpck Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Hi all GuRu, just a small project added into this topic ;) I've change my dali zensor crossover electrolytic capacitor to mundorf M-cap. Hope you all like it view of the crossover size compare Cap changed View of dali zensor driver
GAGAecholoft Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 those resistors can get quite hot. placing the caps too near to them may be deleterious.
schnauzerpck Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Hi GAGA@echoloft , thank for your advice i've remove and check and it's ok the resistor not hot maybe the coil too small izzit? btw my speaker running for abt 5hr when i removeed the crossover to check. maybe i'll insert something in between it but wat material can i use? thxs again
Juniorsg Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 You want also wish to support the vertical standing cap for stability.
schnauzerpck Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Do you think i can use a small piece of acrylic plastic to support it? really want to thank all guru for the valuable advice. You want also wish to support the vertical standing cap for stability.
Juniorsg Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 spongy like material is preferred as it does provide support one example is those thick double sided adhesive tape but looking at your crossover it might not be applicable. foam might be a good choice but be aware that it will disintegrate over time with high temp. try your acrylic plastic since is available right away
synthesis1624705793 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Maybe it's ok as it is now because it's already glued to something. I won't lose a sleep because of that. How's the sound after changing?

How's the sound after changing? yes synthesis I've check and the resistor is running cool even long hour of listening, all the component in the crossover is applied with hot glue the cap , resistor and coil when I open out. I'm sure it's ok cheers And the m-cap is better , some tone and note which can't hear now appear. Can really feel and not only listen to the music
cody1624705817 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 can get the M-cap with smaller in size like 200vdc will be easy for placement , 400vdc is quite big.
